The event was held at London’s Ballroom Southbank venue, with winners including distributor of the year Paramount, best British film Bait, and honourary prizes for Judi Dench – outstanding contribution to UK film; and Tony Jones – the exhibition achievement award.

Picturehouse co-founder and MD Lyn Goleby is to leave the UK exhibition stalwart she launched more than 25 years ago.
The departure was announced to staff internally today with the long-time executive set to leave in the coming weeks.
Screen sources indicate that the departure is an amicable break and in a statement to Screen Goleby said she plans to continue working with the film industry.
Cineworld acquired the UK art-house kingpin for £47.3 million in December 2012, since when it has opened its flagship venue in Piccadilly Circus, London.
Entrepreneur Goleby and co-founder Tony Jones started the popular group by buying the Phoenix cinema in Oxford in 1989. It has since expanded through acquiring and building cinemas, notably in London and university cities such as Cambridge, Edinburgh, Brighton and York.

Abbeygate Cinemas Limited complete acquistion from City Screen Limited.
Abbeygate Cinemas Limited have announced the acquistion of the Abbeygate Picturehouse from City Screen Limited.
This folows the Competition Commission decision that Bury St. Edmunds was an area that could suffer a lessening of competition after Cineworld’s acquisition of the Picturehouse group in Dec 2012.
Led by former City Screen Limited founding partner Tony Jones, the new owners have emphasised that it will be business as usual for the popular cinema. A seamless transition is planned with the programming services of Picturehouse Cinemas being retained.
They will also continue with a Membership scheme, honouring the existing Member benefits.
“It is great that we have been able to transfer the cinema into safe hands with Tony,” commented Lyn Goleby, managing director of Picturehouse Cinemas.
