Sarah Hyland exits her hosting duties on Love Island USA after two seasons on Peacock.
“Well, just got a text,” Hyland shared on Instagram Stories, making reference to how the islanders communicate within the dating show. “I’m disappointed the news had to break this way but it is in fact true that I will not be returning to the island this summer.”
She continued, “I have committed to an exciting project that will be announced soon that conflicts directly with the shooting dates for Love Island USA.”
Hyland added that she was “sad I can’t return” and hoped “to see lots of love this summer on Peacock this upcoming season.”
Although Peacock hasn’t confirmed who will be replacing Hyland as host, TMZ reported that Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix is set to replace the Modern Family alum.

Peacock has renewed Love Island USA for two additional seasons.
The show — which the streamer says is its No. 1 original reality series — follows a group of singles searching for love in a villa, but throughout their stay in a tropical oasis, Islanders face challenges, surprises, “bombshells” and more twists and turns.
Following the finale of Love Island USA‘s season five, which aired this past summer, the show’s executive producer Simon Thomas told The Hollywood Reporter that the goal is for the Islanders and the audience to “feel like the best summer vacation of all time” with “a little bit of drama along the way.”
When asked what he’d learned from season five that he would possibly change for future seasons, Thomas said at the time, “I would imagine that there will be things next year that you will see, which will surprise you, much like there were this year,...

Some shady things have been going on behind the scenes on Love Island USA, a new lawsuit alleges. Two former crew members on the Peacock reality series recently sued ITV and NBCUniversal. They claim California labor laws were violated and contestants were mistreated on the show. According to Jasmine Crestwell and Alex Rinks, who filed the suit in Los Angeles County Superior Court on July 19, season 4 contestant Sereniti Springs was particularly singled out as one of the only women of color on the show.
‘Love Island USA’ Season 4 cast member Sereniti Springs blocked from making connections with other cast members, lawsuit claims
In their lawsuit, Crestwell and Rinks claim that Sereniti, who is Black, was set up to fail on Love Island USA’s fourth season. In court documents obtained by People, they claim that producers interfered with “her ability to forge connections with male cast members, thus sabotaging her chances on the show.

Two former “Love Island USA” crew members have filed a lawsuit against show producers ITV and NBCUniversal, alleging violations of California’s employment laws and mistreatment of contestants.
The complaint, filed Wednesday in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, relies on the testimony of plaintiffs Jasmine Crestwell and Alex Rinks, both of whom worked as Villa producers during the fourth installment of the reality dating show — the first season after the show had moved from CBS to NBCUniversal-owned streaming service Peacock. The lawsuit alleges that, in an effort to bolster ratings, “Love Island USA” recruited producers behind the hit U.K. version of the series, whose allegedly “racist and abusive practices” negatively impacted the mental health of show contestants.
Per court documents obtained by TheWrap, Rinks was concerned by the “unsafe and unsanitary conditions” of the production and alleged that producers denied contestants sleep, food, water and sanitary bathrooms. Moreover,...
