Terri Melkonian
- Producer
- Executive
After ten years of managing feature film and television productions at
NBC/Universal and five years as Vice President of Marketing and Sales
at Sunset Gower and Sunset Bronson Studios, Terri Melkonian decided to
follow her own passion to produce quality, uplifting, and marketable
entertainment, effecting a positive impact with its audience. She
joined the exclusive Producers Guild of America, opened offices at
Paramount Studios, and formed TERRIMEL Entertainment with her focus on
developing and producing studio quality, commercial films, with a great
story, reasonable budget, and an opportunity to generate derivative
content and revenue across multiple platforms.
During her recent tenure at Sunset Gower, CEO Robert Papazian had elevated Ms. Melkonian to the highest ranked female executive at the studio, and stated in her featured Hollywood Reporter article, "Terri is a top executive and has proven herself to have particular expertise in film, television, and commercial productions, and ideally suited to head up our triad of studio departments". During her successful run with Mr. Papazian and GI Partners at Sunset Gower Studios, Ms. Melkonian brought a host of film productions including features Alvin and The Chipmunks, The Ugly Truth, Lincoln Lawyer, and many hit television productions from ABC, NBC, CBS, HBO, and Showtime. Shortly upon her arrival, she rebranded this once iconic Columbia Pictures studio property, improved operations, increased revenue, and more than doubled the value and selling price of the studio when sold to Hudson Capital a short two years later.
TERRIMEL Entertainment's slate of films includes the romantic comedy Holidater, about a successful female executive who dates different men during each holiday season to avoid being alone until her plan backfires and she falls in love with "the one", due out in December of 2013 and co-produced with Intandem Films; an inspiring coming of age drama Every Second Counts which is based on a true story about a highly gifted athlete and academic Oxford University student headed for great success until the sudden discovery of a fatal heart condition, to be co-produced with CK Films LTD. Also on the company's slate are two animated feature films to be co-produced with Critter Pix - one about a loveable sea otter named Ollie and the other about a heroic Super Girl Spy named Zoya.
Ms. Melkonian is a producer and member of the PGA, serves on the executive board of New Filmmakers LA and on the advisory boards of both the Armenian Dramatic Arts Alliance as well as Kat Kramer's Films That Changed The World. She earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from CSULB.
