"Milton Mulberry Jr. was going to die. Now, you're probably thinking: 'what a morbid way to start a story...'" Looking for something fun to watch this Halloween? Check out this amusing new short film Dead Hearts, a "gothic bedtime story" about two young lovers that is filled with "taxidermy, Kung Fu, and biker werewolves". Valin Shinyei stars as a young unfazed-by-death mortician along with Dalila Bela as the taxidermy-loving blind girl he falls for, and they make for an adorable couple. I shouldn't make the obvious comparison but this definitely has the "if Wes Anderson made a horror movie" vibe, though it's really quite charming and enjoyable. I appreciate the way the story shifts in the second half, bringing the film full-circle. Description from Vimeo: "A young mortician learns that not even death can stand in the way of true love. A whimsical, gothic bedtime story filled with love,...

I don't know who thought that it would be a good idea to make a sequel to the classic 1983 film A Christmas Story, but it looks terrible. If they wanted a sequel they could have at least made a good film! A Christmas Story 2 is being labeled an "Official Sequel". Back in 1994 another sequel was attempted called It Runs in the Family, which later released on DVD under the title My Summer Story. That was a crappy sequel as well.
Here's the Synopsis:
The original, traditional, one-hundred-percent, red-blooded, two-fisted, All-American Christmas continues five years later, with Ralphie (Braeden Lemasters), Randy (Valin Shinyei), Mom (Stacey Travis), and the Old Man (Daniel Stern). This time, Ralphie has his eyes fixed on a car. But trouble is sure to follow.
They just can't seem to recapture that magic that the original movie was filled with. It's like they're trying to force it,...

The full trailer for A Christmas Story 2 is now online, courtesy of Yahoo! Movies . "The original, traditional, one-hundred-percent, red-blooded, two-fisted, All-American Christmas continues five years later," reads the official press release, "with Ralphie (Braeden Lemasters), Randy (Valin Shinyei), Mom (Stacey Travis), and the Old Man (Daniel Stern). This time, Ralphie has his eyes fixed on a car. But trouble is sure to follow." The Warner Bros. Blu-ray/DVD/UltraViolet Digital Copy combo...

The Christmas Story sequel no one asked for is coming this October 30, what a scary coincidence, just in time for Halloween. Brian Levant (Jingle All the Way) directed the sequel that looks at Ralphie as a teenager who wants a Red Ryder 1938 Hupmobile Skyline Convertible for Christmas, see what they did there? Daniel Stern plays Ralphie’s “Old Man,” Stacey Travis his mother, and Valin Shinyei is brother Randy.
Interestingly enough, this has been attempted before with a 1988 with Ollie Hopnoodle’s Haven of Bliss (Jerry O’Connell played a young Ralphie), and then again in 1994 with It Runs in the Family (or My Summer Story) with Kieran Culkin as Ralphie.
Movies.com reported this and has the box art (see below), hey remember Leg lamp? They thought you might!

Yes, friends, whether you like it or not we're finally getting that long-awaited Christmas Story sequel no one ever asked for this October 30, courtesy of Warner Home Entertainment, which means it's going straight to DVD/Blu-ray. Jingle All the Way director Brian Levant (who our own Scott Weinberg called a "soft-focus tripod" via Twitter) is behind this one, with a story that looks to pick up with Ralphie (Braeden Lemasters) as a teenager who desperately wants a Red Ryder 1938 Hupmobile Skyline Convertible for Christmas. Daniel Stern will play Ralphie's "Old Man," while Stacey Travis is his mother, and Valin Shinyei is brother Randy. Don't worry, both Flick (David W. Thompson) and Schwartz (David Buehrle) are in it too. But before...
