Kevin Birnbaum was born and raised in Agoura Hills California, which is
a suburb outside Los Angeles. He is the second of four brothers, and
attended Agoura High School.
Kevin earned his Bachelors degree in Film Production from the Cinema
and Television Arts program at Cal State Northridge. While at
Northridge, he worked at The Playtone Company, under Tom Hanks and Gary
Goetzman.
He then entered the American Film Institute graduate program where he
studied film producing. While at AFI, Kevin was awarded the Alessandro
F. Uzielli scholarship.
During his second year at AFI, he produced the thesis film Karim vs.
Karachi. Which went on to being selected for both the Nashville Film
Festival and the Florida Film Festival.
In January 2009, he earned his MFA from the American Film Institute.
Since April 2009, he has been working under producer Polly Cohen
Johnsen whose company Polymorphic Pictures has a first look deal at
Warner Brothers.
