Bohemia Media will release “Memory” across U.K. and Ireland cinemas from Feb. 9, 2024. Written and directed by Michel Franco “Memory” stars Jessica Chastain and Peter Sarsgaard. It premiered at the 2023 Venice Film Festival where Sarsgaard won best actor.
“Memory” follows Sylvia (Chastain), a social worker who leads a simple and structured life revolving around her daughter, her job and her AA meetings. This is disrupted when Saul (Sarsgaard) follows her home from their high school reunion. Their encounter profoundly impacts both of them as they open the door to the past.
The cast also includes Merritt Wever, Brooke Timber, Elsie Fisher, Josh Charles and Jessica Harper.
The film is produced by Franco, Eréndira Núñez Larios, Alex Orlovsky and Duncan Montgomery. It is a Teorema Production in collaboration with High Frequency Entertainment, in association with Screen Capital/Screen One, Mubi and Case Study Films. It commences its U.S. theatrical release on Dec.

101 Films and Abacus Media Rights owner Amcomri Entertainment has acquired several Screen Media libraries for the UK and Ireland through a joint entity part-owned by Head Gear Films Founder Phil Hunt’s Bohemia Media.
Following the deal struck through Jv Positivor Limited, 101 Films will distribute more than 750 hours of films and TV in the territories. 101 previously distributed them in the UK and Ireland under license following a deal struck in 2021.
Positivor is funding the deal through the proceeds of a loan from UK television and film financier Head Gear, which owns the London-based production and distribution company Bohemia. Head Gear founder Hunt and Lucy Fenton own the London-based production and distribution company Bohemia. Hunt is also CEO of Bankside Films.

Bohemia Media has secured UK and Ireland rights to Rebel Dykes, a documentary set to receive its world premiere at BFI Flare: London Lgbtiq+ Film Festival (March 17-28).
The London-based outfit, launched last year by Phil Hunt and Lucy Fenton, struck the deal with Riot Productions and plan to release the film in virtual cinemas this June.
The documentary marks the feature directorial debut of Harri Shanahan and Sian Williams, and centres on a gang of lesbians in 1980s London that aimed to unite Lgbtiq+ communities against hostility and homophobia.

Bohemia Media, the UK distribution company launched in January by Phil Hunt and Lucy Fenton, has made Chinonye Chukwu’s Clemency its first acquisition.
The film will be released on July 31 via a revenue-sharing model between premium VoD, independent cinemas, racial justice organisations and Poc (people of colour) film organisations across the country.
During the digital theatrical window, Clemency will be available on Bohemia Media’s own VoD platform. Viewers will be asked to select a local cinema or preferred film collective to receive an equal split of the revenue.
