Less than two months after his official coronation, King Charles III is getting busy on YouTube. The monarch of the United Kingdom has debuted a new channel for his environment nonprofit, Re:tv.
Charles launched Re:tv in hopes of addressing the climate crisis. “The time to act is now,” reads a message that greets visitors to the nonprofit’s website. For Re:tv, action means providing a platform for innovative climate solutions. The organization teams up with local crews to shoot videos that champion climate action. So far, more than 70 of those short films have been produced.
Initially, Re:tv videos were distributed through platforms like Amazon Prime and Bloomberg. The brand’s new channel gives it a foothold on YouTube — and an expanded audience. Just two months after Re:tv’s YouTube arrival, it has already shared more than 50 long-form videos and Shorts with an audience of about 16,000 subscribers.

London, June 26 (Ians) Hollywood stars Idris Elba, Olivia Colman, Woody Harrelson have joined hands together to help King Charles launch a new YouTube channel dedicated to the environment.
Re:tv is the new platform for showcasing “sustainable solutions to the climate and biodiversity crisis,” according to the King, reports ‘Variety’.
It is the digital extension of his non-profit, also called Re:tv, which he founded in 2020. The org has made over 100 short films about innovative environmental projects worldwide, which have previously been launched on platforms including Bloomberg and Waterbear.
Now, with its own YouTube channel, Re:tv will be able to debut its content directly online.
To celebrate the launch, Re:tv has made a short film titled “The Speeches: 50 Years of Speaking Up For The Planet” featuring 19 actors and environmentalists who quote some of the environment-focused speeches King Charles has delivered over the years between 1970 and 2020, when he was still the Prince of Wales.

Early U.K. YouTube star Jack Harries, whose channel counts 4 million subscribers, has had quite the unconventional career trajectory.
The 25-year-old, an early YouTube heartthrob thanks to massively-viewed videos co-starring his identical twin brother, Finn, was arrested at a non-violent protest yesterday morning staged to coincide with International Petroleum Week -- where top execs from the oil and gas industry convened in London, Metro reports. The arrest was chronicled on Twitter by climate activist group Extension Rebellion, which also noted in a press release that Harries had been arrested alongside eight others for gluing themselves to the glass doors of the hotel where the conference was being hosted.
Local police told Metro, however, that only five people were arrested “on suspicion of offenses including aggravated trespass and criminal damage.”

Amount Raised Thus Far (At Time Of Post): £7,086 ($10,096.49)

Description: Jack Harries is best known as a YouTube star and one-half of the fraternal video-making duo JacksGap, but with his latest project, he is taking on a behind-the-scenes role. Harries is the producer behind Alegna, a short film led by writer and director Fraser Rigg.
Alegna will focus on a British soldier who has been captured by enemy combatants during the Iraq War. The film will take place over the course of his captivity, and Rigg plans display the punishments exacted upon his protagonist with unsparing detail and grim, raw realism.
"This isn’t your typical war story," writes Rigg on Alegna's Indiegogo page, "we’re not pointing fingers here at who is wrong and who is right, merely just showing you the effects...

Marriott Content Studio has a new video series bound to inspire young audiences to pack a bag and hop a flight to their favorite city around the world. The hotel chain has launched the first in a travel video series from Jack Harries (also known as JacksGap to the online video masses), which features the YouTube star touring the city of New Orleans in only 24 hours.
In the first of the travel videos, Harries flies to Louisiana to experience all New Orleans has to offer in just a day’s time (though as Harries notes in a behind-the-scenes blog post, the filming took place over a week). With the help of his brother Finn and a few friends, Harries bikes around in the rain, travels on a steamboat, interacts with the locals, and checks out the nightlife, all before going back to his Marriott hotel room for a good quality night's sleep.
