There are a plenty of longtime Saturday Night cast members, yet there were no big exits — or hints of departures — on tonight’s Season 49 finale of the venerable NBC late-night program.
No SNL veterans were tearing up at the end of their sketches like Kate McKinnon did in the 2022 finale, it was all smiles and fist bumps at the curtain call, and, after another brutal joke swap, Colin Jost and Michael Che wrapped their 10th season together on Weekend Update by wishing everyone a great summer.
This was to be expected, given that no one from this year’s 17-strong troupe would willingly miss next year’s big celebrations – The Big 50.
Host Jake Gyllenhaal set the stage for what is to come in his opening monologue, noting that the finale was “the last episode before the big anniversary season.”

2023 was the end of an era in the Best Comedy Supporting Actress Emmy category. For the first time in 10 years, “Saturday Night Live” was snubbed in the category in which it has been nominated a record 22 times and has won twice, both for Kate MicKinnon. Can it rebound in 2024?
Ever since the TV academy allowed “SNL” cast members to enter in the comedy acting categories in 2008, the sketch series has dominated supporting actress, with 2013 and 2023 being the only years it has failed to earn a nomination. McKinnons is “SNL’s” most nominated performer in the category — and overall — with nine bids, the second most in the category after Rhea Perlman and Loretta Swit, who each received 10.
After McKinnon’s final nomination for her final season in 2022, it was clear that “SNL” might struggle to continue its nomination streak. She was “SNL’s” only nominee in the category that year, down...

Exclusive: Margaret Qualley has pulled out of playing Amanda Knox in Hulu’s upcoming limited series for scheduling reasons.
Qualley, two-time Emmy nominee for Netflix’s Maid and FX’s Fosse/Verdon, just saw her two upcoming movies, Kinds of Kindness and The Substance, both get selected to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Recently seen in Poor Things, she is currently filming Honey Don’t! and has other features lined up.
The untitled Hulu limited series from writer Kj Steinberg and 20th Television in association with The Littlefield Company, was officially greenlighted last month with Qualley on board to star and executive produce. The role is now being recast. The development won’t impact production plans as the eight-episode project is scheduled to start filming in October.
The limited series covers Knox’s 16-year journey to set herself free after being wrongfully convicted for the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher.

Even though Ryan Gosling popped up during Kristin Wiig's induction into the Five Timers Club in last weekend's episode of "Saturday Night Live," the "Barbie" star had actually only hosted the late night sketch comedy show a couple times. Despite having just that pair of hosting stints under his belt, Gosling had already proven he was a reliable and hilarious host. But even with expectations high, Gosling made this third round hosting "Saturday Night Live" an absolute banger, delivering one of the best episodes that I've ever seen. And it wasn't just because of guest appearances by former "SNL" cast member (and recent host) Kate McKinnon or a cameo by Gosling's "The Fall Guy" co-star Emily Blunt. Even without those bonuses, this episode of "SNL" was simply phenomenal.
So let's not waste anymore time. Come with us as we dig into the highs and non-existent lows of Ryan Gosling's latest "Saturday Night Live.

It's been nine months since both "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer" released in theaters, but poor Ryan Gosling still struggles to let the event go. So he decided to bring out the ol' piano for his "Saturday Night Live" monologue and sing an ode to Ken, paying tribute to that neon rollerblading outfit and ridiculous fur coat. The song was sung to the tune of Taylor Swift's "All Too Well," which Swift famously sung in its 10-minute entirety on "SNL" back in 2021. The relevance of "All Too Well" to the bit doesn't stop there: it's also the song Gosling's character cries to in the trailer for his new movie, "The Fall Guy," a movie that's basically Gosling's entire reason for hosting this time around.
Showing up mid-musical number was "The Fall Guy" co-star Emily Blunt, urging Gosling to let "Barbie" go and focus on their new project together. But much like Gosling can't let Ken go,...

Ryan Gosling returned to Saturday Night Live this weekend and revived the hilarious “Close Encounter” sketch during the episode’s cold open alongside his former Barbie co-star, Kate McKinnon. First introduced on SNL back in 2015, the sketch revolves around three friends who were all abducted by aliens but had vastly different experiences once they were on the spaceship. In the newest sketch, Gosling found himself in the same predicament as when the original one aired, being unable to hold back his laughter at the crazy things McKinnon was saying and doing. Bowen Yang and Mikey Day, who are playing Nsa investigators, begin the cold open by saying to Gosling, McKinnon, and Sarah Sherman, “Now you’re all here because you’ve experienced a verified alien abduction.” Sherman replies, “It was wild. One second, we’re three friends on a camping trip, and the next, we’re citizens of the stars.

Known for breaking character and cracking up Saturday Night Live cast members in his previous two hosting stints on the NBC sketch program, Ryan Gosling stayed true to himself tonight, laughing in every skit he was in, much to the delight of the studio audience, and challenging his co-stars to keep a straight face — even seasoned veterans like Kenan Thompson.
The tone was set in the cold open, reuniting Gosling and Kate McKinnon for a third Close Encounters sketch, in which host Gosling could not stop laughing as McKinnon was demonstrating how aliens observed Gosling character’s private parts close and personal during their alleged abduction. She chuckled a few times too, with the rest trying to hide their smiles.
Then came The Engagement skit, in which Gosling played a newly engaged man having serious second thoughts about his decision to propose.

Ryan Gosling, this week’s Saturday Night Live guest host, teamed up with SNL alum Kate McKinnon and Sarah Sherman in an opening sketch in which they described to government investigators their experience being abducted by aliens.
While Sherman’s and Gosling’s characters played it straight, McKinnon’s portrayal of Colleen Rafferty–a staple during her time on the show–was anything but.
Lounging with legs apart and puffing on a cigarette, McKinnon’s character recalled being “vacuumed” up into an extraterrestrial aircraft.

Ryan Gosling returned to “SNL” this week in a cold open with “Barbie” co-star Kate McKinnon, reviving one of their most famous sketches, “Close Encounter,” in which they recount being abducted by aliens and their vastly different experiences aboard the spaceship.
The original sketch debuted eight years ago and featured Gosling and McKinnon, alongside Cecily Strong (it currently has 60 million views on YouTube). The actor also recreated this sketch on his second time hosting six years ago. In every attempt to act through “Close Encounter” Gosling has heroically attempted to get through McKinnon’s genius bit without breaking, every time he has failed. Endearingly, Gosling broke again at least once during this one.

Saturday Night Live wasted no time getting to the good stuff this week: another alien abduction sketch, with host Ryan Gosling joined by (and trying hard not to laugh at) former cast member Kate McKinnon.

Ryan Gosling just couldn’t let go of his character Ken from Barbie during his Saturday Night Live monologue.
Though he initially said he wasn’t going to talk about Ken because he “broke up” with the character after going “too deep,” he ultimately decided to sing about his feelings with a rendition of Taylor Swift’s hit song “All Too Well.”
“You know, when you play a character that hard, that long, just letting go feels like a breakup and for processing a breakup, there’s really only one thing that can help: The music of the great Taylor Swift,” the La La Land actor said.
Gosling then proceeded to sing, “I shredded Venice Beach is true / My clothes were tight / But something about that spandex felt so right / I left my rollerblades in that big pink house / But I still got that fur coat and I’ll wear...

Kate McKinnon returned to Saturday Night Live for yet another “Close Encounter” alien abduction cold open, joining with this week’s host Ryan Gosling for the popular sketch. And as he has before, Gosling struggled not to laugh and to stay in character.
As she has in the past, McKinnon played Colleen Rafferty, one of her most popular and memorable characters. As in past sketches, after Pentagon officials listen to abductees describe their experiences like spiritual awakenings, Rafferty relays bawdy and sexualized encounters with the alien beings. Gosling played Todd, another abductee, along with Sarah Sherman.
This time around, the sketch was even more outrageous, as Colleen demonstrated the aliens interest in Todd’s private part, or as it is referred to, “troll nose.”
“Just in case you are wondering, I did not become aroused,” Gosling, as Todd, said. “Anytime I felt like I might, I just looked at Colleen here.

A star-studded group of veteran “Saturday Night Live” guest hosts were on hand this evening to welcome Kristen Wiig into the “Five-Timers Club.” But much to Wiig’s chagrin, most of them haven’t matched her feat of actually hosting “SNL” five times.
The former “Saturday Night Live” cast member made her fifth appearance as host — having previously hit the stage in 2013, 2016 and twice in 2020.
The stolen “SNL” valor actually began with a legit five-timer: Paul Rudd, on hand to welcome her from the audience..
“As a former cast member, it is very special,” Wiig said. “I’m really excited about getting my jacket tonight… they don’t just hand the jackets off to anyone.”
Well, not quite. Soon more stars came out: Matt Damon, Jon Hamm, Martin Short, Will Forte, Fred Armisen, Martin Short and Ryan Gosling. None of whom haven actually hosted five times yet.

Kristen Wiig hosting “Saturday Night Live” this week is definitely something to look forward to.
And something to look backward at a bit as well.
Given how many indelible characters Wiig created in her seven seasons on the show (she departed in 2012) there’s a good chance that we’ll see at least one of them pop back up Saturday night.
But then again, maybe not. Familiar characters are not as much of a regular feature on the show anymore.
Sure, this season has seen a handful of returning characters and sketches: Garrett from Hinge, Lisa from Temecula, Santa’s Workshop, and Cinema Classics have all reappeared. We’ve also seen a few loose re-interpretations of past sketches–the social media game show “Why’d You Like It” was brought back as “Why’d You Say it,” and Big Dumb Hats was re-imagined as Big Dumb Cups.
Arguably the season...

Kate McKinnon was jokingly shocked to learn that her “tasteful” nudes have actually not been going to Jeff Goldblum, but rather to Steven Spielberg.
The Saturday Night Live alum and her Barbie co-star America Ferrera initially took to the 2024 Oscars stage Sunday night to present the awards for best documentary short and best documentary feature.

The Academy is still taking its lumps for not nominating Greta Gerwig for directing “Barbie.” Even Jimmy Kimmel, the guy hired to host the Oscars for the fourth time, is letting them have it.
In a lengthy new teaser that is already going viral, the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” host follows the yellow brick road in Barbieland to make it to the March 10 Academy Awards. “Barbie” cast members Kate McKinnon, Helen Mirren, and the film’s Academy-Award nominees America Ferrera and Ryan Gosling help him reach his destination: Oscarsland, Aka Los Angeles.
We prefer the pink place.
Along the way, McKinnon parodies co-star Ferrera’s iconic “Barbie” speech, penned by co-writers Noah Baumbach and Gerwig, while Gosling says he is eager to cheer on Gerwig in the Best Director category. Gosling, at least half in character, is in for a rude awakening.

Barbie‘s narrator, Helen Mirren, returns for Jimmy Kimmel’s Oscars promo, with the Academy Award-winner kicking off the nearly five-minute video declaring that since the dawn of time, men have been getting lost. Kimmel, or dumb-dumb as Mirren calls him, stops by Weird Barbie’s looking for directions and earns a few more nicknames, including Midlife Crisis Ken and Lost Everything in the Divorce Ken, from Kate McKinnon. McKinnon whips out a map to OscarLand, and off the twosome go on an adventure.
They pass through various Oscar nominee lands and come upon Oppenheimer‘s Matt Damon. After insulting that “poor, incredibly hideous, disgusting, ugly man,” they make it to Hollywood and Kimmel confesses he’s not sure he can handle this year’s hosting gig. America Ferrera pops up and delivers a twist on her iconic Barbie speech, trading out the difficulty of being a woman with the difficulty of hosting the Oscars.

After all, the ceremony is always far too long, so handing out the little golden guys an hour earlier than usual means Hollywood can get the after-party started sooner, and isn't that what the Oscars are really about?
ABC's late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel will again be hosting the show, which will likely avoid any new controversy out of the Oscars. Surely no one wants to deal with the host getting slapped on live television again. The only slapping that should be happening at the Oscars is slappin' da bass during the performances of the Best Original Song nominees, which will hopefully include Ryan Gosling doing a live...

Jimmy Kimmel is ripping the Barbie parody band-aid a full month before the Oscars.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host dropped a five-minute short on Monday night, directed by Jkl‘s Will Burke, hyping his March 10 gig emceeing the Academy Awards — re-creating many Barbie sets and reuniting four of its castmembers in a spoof that finds a hapless Kimmel trying to make his way to the Dolby Theatre. “Since the dawn of time, men have been getting lost,” says a voice-of-God Helen Mirren, spoofing her own narration of the Margot Robbie feature. “This is the story of one such dum-dum.”
With the help of “Weird Barbie” Kate McKinnon, who gives a stellar delivery of the famous Carnegie Hall joke, Kimmel speedily re-creates much of the film’s road trip sequence — swapping in the cartoonish Barbie settings for vistas from best picture nominees — before landing in Hollywood where McKinnon’s “Weird Wagon...

Hi Barbie, er, Jimmy!
Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel is hopelessly lost in a new promo for ABC’s telecast of the Academy Awards, and his twisted path takes him deep into the very pink realm of Best Picture nominee/blockbuster hit Barbie.

ABC has dropped the first Oscar promo featuring host Jimmy Kimmel and Barbie stars Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera and Kate McKinnon. The hilarious promo even tackles Greta Gerwig’s Best Director Oscar snub head-on.
It opens with a Helen Mirren voiceover, as Kimmel tries to figure out an Oscars road map to find his way to the big event.
“Since the dawn of time, men have been getting lost. This is the story of one such dumb-dumb,” says Mirren, before Kimmel finds his way to the home of Weird Barbie (McKinnon).
“You must be Midlife Crisis Ken,” says Weird Barbie as she greets Kimmel, adding “Lost Everything in the Divorce Ken” and “Probably Should’ve Got a Size Up in That Tuxedo Ken?” Nope, says Kimmel.
“I’m hosting the Oscars and I’m lost, and I really need to get back to Hollywood,” he tells Weird Barbie, who responds,...

We are officially less than a month away from the 2024 Oscars telecast, and Jimmy Kimmel is here to remind potential viewers that he’s ready for the task.
ABC dropped a five-minute promo early Tuesday that put the late-night star (and soon-to-be four-time Academy Awards host) in scenes with fictitious characters from nominated films (as well as some not-fictitious members of the Hollywood community).
The gag is that Kimmel is “lost” (<–subliminal ABC legacy branding?) and needs directions. With “Barbie” star Helen Mirren narrating, he stops by Kate McKinnon’s “Weird Barbie” house, who then slaps him with a series of dissbombs before sending him back to Oscarsland via the power of puns. It’s amazing to watch them blaze past the Auschwitz-set “Zone of Interest.”
A montage ensues, which affords Kimmel an opportunity to take a shot at his longtime nemesis Matt Damon as he and McKinnon travel...

ABC has debuted the first promotional video for the upcoming Oscars, and it features host Jimmy Kimmel in a full-blown recreation of “Barbie” that also reunites cast members Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera and Kate McKinnon. In perhaps a surprising move, the advertisement directly calls out the Academy for snubbing “Barbie” filmmaker Greta Gerwig in the best director race. Gerwig’s omission is widely considered the most shocking Oscar snub this year, along with “Barbie” star Margot Robbie not making it into the best actress race.
In the promo, Kimmel seeks the advice of Weird Barbie (McKinnon) to figure out how to get to the Oscars. Their journey takes them through a recreation of the “Oppenheimer” set, where Kimmel gets to poke fun at friend Matt Damon. The two end up in the Oscars lobby, where nominee Ferrera pops up to riff on her famous “Barbie” monologue. She changes it from...

Kate McKinnon is wearing a new hat — author.
The comedian is dipping her toes into the middle-grade genre with her debut novel, The Millicent Quibb School of Etiquette for Young Ladies of Mad Science, about the Porch Sisters and the town of Antiquarium’s lone mad scientist, Millicent Quibb.

The book is set to debut on October 1, 2024.

Kate McKinnon is set to publish her debut novel.
Little, Brown Books for Young Readers (Lbyr), a division of Hachette Book Group, will publish the Saturday Night Live alum’s novel, it was announced Monday by Megan Tingley, Lbyr president and publisher.
The book, called The Millicent Quibb School of Etiquette for Young Ladies of Mad Science, will be the first of an upcoming middle-grade series and center on the Porch Sisters (Gertrude, Eugenia and Dee-Dee) and the town of Antiquarium’s lone mad scientist, Millicent Quibb.
“I wanted to write the kind of book that I would have loved reading when I was younger, when I was eating honeysuckle on the playground and collecting bugs and falling in love with the natural world,” McKinnon said in a statement.
She added, “I hope young people read about the adventures of the Porch Sisters and are inspired to get out there and have their own adventures.

As an alumna of “Saturday Night Live,” Kate McKinnon knows what it takes to come up with interesting characters. Now she will do so for a decidedly different format.
The comic actor plans to launch a debut novel aimed at young-adult readers. “The Millicent Quibb School of Etiquette for Young Ladies of Mad Science” is envisioned as the first book in a series aimed at readers between the ages of 8 and 12, and will be published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, a division of Hachette Book Group. The series centers on the three Porch Sisters — Gertrude, Eugenia, and Dee-Dee — and Millicent Quibb, the lone mad scientist in their hometown of Antiquarium.

This weekend, the biggest sporting event on the Stateside calendar, the Super Bowl, went down between the San Francisco 49ers and the Taylor Swiftie… Sorry (checks notes), Kansas City Chiefs. And with a massive guaranteed TV audience, that naturally meant companies shelling out not just $7 million for 30 seconds of precious airtime, but millions more to secure celebrity faces and guarantee viewers/clicks. As is usual these days, most of the ads went up days before the event itself, or the spots linked to longer versions online. Here is a roundup of our favourites…
State Farm: Arnold Schwarzenegger
Arnie's spot for the insurance company is, like so many of these short clips, really only a two-joke piece: 1. Arnie is in it 2. He pronounces "neighbour" "neighbah". Oh, and the extended version also has his old pal Danny DeVito in it. For a second.

Creating a Super Bowl ad is often like trying to herd cats. Advertisers spend millions of dollars on media placement, celebrity endorsements, licensing pop songs and promotions in supermarkets. Executives at Hellmann’s, however, really only need to worry about the actual animals.
Kate McKinnon stars in Hellmann’s new Super Bowl spot along with a feline known as “Mayo Cat.” Both work to make viewers aware of food waste and how the company’s famous mayonnaise can help reduce it. For the comic actor, the task is an important one. “I grew up in a house that was very environmentally minded, and we never threw anything out,” she tells Variety in an interview. “It’s something that’s very dear to my heart.”

In the footage, Elordi is seen at the top of the stage in Studio 8H as he attempts to descend the three steps that hosts typically strut down on their way to performing the opening monologue. But castmembers Punkie Johnson and Marcello Hernández notice that Elordi can’t quite wrap his head around the brief walk.

Kate McKinnon had an 11-year run on Saturday Night Live and created many memorable characters throughout her time on the NBC sketch show.
As the Barbie actor made her return to the late-night show for the first time as host, it wasn’t surprising she would reprise one of her recurring roles.
On Saturday’s episode, McKinnon reprised her role of Barbara DeDrew in the recurring sketch “Whiskers R We” which always features the guest host as the co-host. In this case, because McKinnon was the host of the week, she got the help of musical guest Billie Eilish to make an appearance on the sketch, playing the role of Paw-bree Hep-Purrn.
The recurring sketch features a lot of puns, and this episode was focused on showing off the cats available for adoption amid the “Holiday Cat-tacular.” As the sketch continues, there are many sexual innuendos thrown along the way between the two co-hosts.

Kate McKinnon returned to Studio 8H to host "Saturday Night Live" for the first time this weekend. Though it might feel like a long time since McKinnon left the late night sketch comedy series, she only just departed in 2022 at the end of season 47, along with Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, and Pete Davidson. But how did McKinnon fare hosting "SNL" without Bryant, her frequent partner in comedy?
Honestly, a pairing of the two comedians was missed in the Christmas episode of "SNL," but executive producer Lorne Michaels tried to make up for the lack of Bryant's guest appearance with the return of two other alums: Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig. Not only did the two appear in the monologue to sing an "SNL" rendition of "I'll Be Home for Christmas," but they popped up in two of the better sketches of the evening. Kate McKinnon had dozens of killer impressions and recurring characters over her 11-year run on Saturday Night Live. Even if you devoted her entire first episode guest hosting to just the great ones, you still wouldn’t have enough time. Saturday Night Live‘s Christmas episode saw several instances of gift giving, among them musical guest Billie Eilish and former SNL cast member Kate McKinnon exchanging cats at Whiskers R We, the pet store where they work.
In an effort to spur adoptions, the pair star in an ad in which they present several felines to those who may want to take them home.
“This is Mrs. Claws,” Eilish says, holding up a cat with white fur and a Santa-like hat. “No relation; it’s spelled different, but she is sleeping with him.

Saturday Night Live‘s final episode of 2023 featured several alums of the sketch comedy show.
Not only did Kate McKinnon, who departed the show last year, return to host, but fellow alums Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph also made a special appearance during her monologue.
As McKinnon took to the Studio 8H stage, she started by saying it was weird to come back to her “old job” and do the monologue: “I don’t really like to talk in my own voice. That’s kind of why I got into this racket in the first place.”
The comedian proceeded to quip that she left SNL because “my skin was reacting poorly to the prosthetics” from all the characters she played over 10 years.
“I’ve never been myself in a monologue before,” she said, adding that she usually plays “the role of freak next to hot person” during past monologues with other hosts.

This weekend’s Christmas episode of SNL was hosted by McKinnon, who returned to Studio 8H for the first time since ending her 10-year-run on the show in 2022. Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph also joined her during the episode’s monologue, as well as in a pre-taped sketch about a Tampon Farm which also featured cameos from musical guest Billie Eilish, Barbie director Greta Gerwig, and Paula Pell.
Fans of Abba can catch the group in digital form via “Abba Voyage,” their ongoing hologram concert series that’s staged at the Abba Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.

Greta Gerwig added to the Barbie vibes of tonight’s Saturday Night Live, making a surprise appearance to introduce musical guest Billie Eilish alongside host Kate McKinnon. Eilish performed “What Was I Made For?” a song from the Barbie soundtrack.
Barbie co-writer/director Gerwig and the film’s co-star McKinnon, who are old college friends, appeared on screen embracing each other to present Eilish.
In Eilish’s performance, a montage of home videos and unseen photos of past and present female cast members appeared. The tribute came as an ode to the emotional scene in the Barbie film where Eilish’s song appears.

Eilish is no stranger to SNL; this appearance is her third sting on the NBC late-night show. In 2021, the Oscar and Grammy award winner performed double duty as host and musical guest.

Old home week on Saturday Night Live continued after the opening monologue with Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph joining host Kate McKinnon in a holiday-themed send-up of Abba.
James Austin Johnson played the infomercial host selling Abba’s 1978 Christmas album “now being released for the first time.” It features “15 brand new Christmas classics and 85 holiday remakes of their existing songs” like “Santa Queen,” “Who’s That Baby,” and a “wintry take” on “Chiquitita” called “Frostitita.”
The women, joined by cast member Bowen Yang, appeared as the Swedish pop supergroup. McKinnon donned a mirror-covered red dress with matching fishnet stockings, while Wiig wore a green leopard-skinned jumpsuit and Rudolph, a superhero-like get-up.
Bowen looking like a cross between Barry Gibb and a Musketeer.

The last “Saturday Night Live” of the year is always a special occasion, and 2023 was no exception: Billie Eilish performed the television debut of “What Was I Made For?,” written and recorded for Greta Gerwig’s summer blockbuster “Barbie,” as well as a torchy interpretation of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” She also appeared in a long sketch with host Kate McKinnon that closed out the show.
The musical performances showed off Eilish’s rapidly growing range as a singer: she brought a deep yearning in the first song and a sultry jazz flavor to the second, with a depth and nuance only hinted at earlier in her career.
“What Was I Made For?” was introduced by Gerwig who appeared on stage alongside host (and “Barbie” costar) McKinnon in a joyful embrace. Eilish appeared in a simple pink polo shirt, jeans and silver-lame hightop sneakers. Her performance was accompanied...

Former Saturday Night Live cast member Kate McKinnon was joined on stage Saturday by fellow SNL alums Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig, and the trio put an SNL spin on “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”
McKinnon, who spent a decade on the late night show until departing last year, began by noting how “weird” it felt to now have her own monologue.
“I don’t really like to talk in my own voice. That’s kind of why I got into this racket in the first place,” joked the actress,...

Kate McKinnon made her debut as Saturday Night Live host and was joined by former cast members Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig.
The Barbie star dropped into her “old job” to host the NBC late-night show and expressed how “weird” it was doing the monologue without being in character.
“It’s so weird to be doing the monologue. I don’t really like to talk in my own voice. That’s kind of why I got into this in the first place,” McKinnon said.
The former SNL star joked that she left the show “because my skin was reacting poorly to the prosthetics.”
“I’ve been trying to assemble a human personality,” she added. “And so far, I have a hat.”
McKinnon said that she’s never played herself in a monologue and has usually only played the role of “freak next to a hot person.”
