- Michael Wade Johnson was born in Tompkinsville, KY and grew up in the small rural area of Clay County, TN. As a child, he was very quiet and withdrawn. During his Junior High years, he discovered a love for writing and music. Before long, he was writing poetry, lyrics, and short stories as well as singing in bands. Music was his first real love of the arts but not long after the turn of the millennium, he gave up music for good and focused on his writings. Self publishing seven solo books and six anthologies, words became his primary artistic focus. Michael moved from TN to Tompkinsville, KY and Richmond, KY. During this time, he began doing some micro-budget film projects and caught the film bug instantly. He wrote his first screenplay, "Brimstone" and set out to make it, learning everything as he went. From there Michael moved to Cookeville, TN, where he did many more film projects, also helping out in the local film community. In 2011, after moving to Nashville, TN, he started working on films again after a brief hiatus, making "Creature of Habit" and "Cyclical Effect". In 2012, he married Mandi Johnson and moved to Chicago, IL and has continued making independent films.- IMDb Mini Biography By: MJ

- I'm a geek disguised as a redneck disguised as a freak.
- I tend to steer clear of the typical tropes found in movies. There are countless stories, both Hollywood and Independent, that have a protagonist/antagonist, good vs. evil storyline. If you want the final girl victory or happily ever after scenario, there are an unlimited supply. Not that homage isn't paid to my influences, it is, but against the trend is more my style. My characters tend to live in the gray, often far away from being a likable protagonist. These created worlds are often bleak without any sugarcoating.
