Andreas Schenker was born (as Andreas Ivo Schenker) on November 15, 1982 in Olten (Switzerland). He is the sun of Alfred Schenker, a teacher, and Marisa Schenker, a secretary.
From the first VHS tape he bought (Home Alone 2: Lost in New York) at age 10 he had strong interests in making films. At the age of 12 his parents gave him the Super 8 camera of his grandaunt and he completely fell in love with gathering imagery. After his apprenticeship he started to work in different short film project. On one set he met a steadicam operator and soon after that he started to learn the steadicam techniques. In May 2015 he attended the ASC Master Class in L.A.
In the last years he worked on different short films as cinematographer and steadicam operator, he also worked for tv stations as cameraman.
The newest productions are "Stand clear of the closing doors" from writer/director Katherine Wuscher from Basel, "Die Hütte" (the cottage) from writer/director Marco von Moos from Zurich and "Cheerios" from Zurich based student Jacqueline Alemayehu.
