Here we are again, with another Lifetime release. This one’s called The Replacement Daughter, and it has everything that you would expect from a Lifetime thriller: a naive protagonist, cardboard characters, and an utterly stupid villain who gets apprehended by the end. But like always, it is very much watchable in a “so bad that it’s good” manner. That’s what life is for you!

Do you remember the answer to the question, Who is Darkman? If not, Scream Factory invites you to revisit Sam Raimi’s first foray into superhero films with their brand new 4K Ultra HD release of 1990’s Darkman launching February 20th.
After being unable to obtain the rights to The Shadow, Raimi decided to mix traits from other popular crime fighters and classic Universal Monsters and pour them into the base of his own unique and tragic figure, Darkman. And this unique character is one who could disguise themselves as anyone they wanted to be.
With prospects like Bill Paxton and Gary Oldman interested in the lead, Raimi rolled the dice on virtual unknown Liam Neeson for his first ever starring role. Raimi also took a gamble on another longshot, his roommate Frances McDormand for the female lead after Julia Roberts bowed out due to personal reasons and became the Pretty Woman.

Actress Marlee Matlin has called out CBS for its Super Bowl pregame coverage, which featured virtually no airtime for the American Sign Language (Asl) performers.

That’s according to Oscar winner and Deaf actor Marlee Matlin, who expressed her frustration with the network on social media.

Durant, a Deaf actor who starred in the Oscar-winning 2021 film Coda and the 2015 Broadway revival of Spring Awakening, popped the question on Christmas Day, as the couple and their families hiked in Lake Arrowhead, California, and talked about the year behind them and the year ahead. “I was the last one — and I started talking about the year, about us meeting and everything that happens in life,” Durant told People. “I just feel like there’s balance. She sees me. She knows my culture, my language, and understands everything about me.” And then Durant got down on one knee and proposed. “We were both emotional, overwhelmed with joy, and at peace knowing that this would eventually be part of our story,...

He added: “Apple, while you are not ordering a season three, I made the show I wanted to make. Thank you for that. Cast, writers and crew, you have my gratitude. Walk off the set with Swagger. As expected, “Barbie” has simply dominated the box office, becoming only the second movie this year to hit the $1 billion mark. But it’s also crushing music charts too.
The soundtrack shattered UK records, and Ryan Gosling’s banger of a power ballad, “I’m Just Ken,” cracked Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. The album as a whole — complete with tracks from Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa and Nicki Minaj that each have more than 100 million streams on Spotify to date, which, for scale, beats out every track on Taylor Swift’s re-release of “Speak Now” — debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 Chart on Friday, in what Billboard itself regarded as “the closest race for No. 1” this year.
Now, is the “Barbie” soundtrack an exception amid today’s movie soundtracks? Well, no. It’s actually an example of precisely how these albums are still a key piece of the business — at least for studios.

NBA superstar Kevin Durant was in the house for Frances Tiafoe 's opening match at the 2023 Citi Open in Washington.
Both of those athletes come from Washington, so they naturally linked up at the event following Tiafoe's win. The basketball player is currently away from the courts as it's the off-season, but he'll soon return to hoops to prepare for the upcoming NBA season.
Tiafoe's commitment to the sport is year-round, so there is very little time for vacations, especially with the US Open looming around the corner. The American started with a win over Aslan Karatsev and held a joint on-court interview with Kd after the match. Durant was glad that Tiafoe got the win and also spoke about his tennis game.

When Francie Calfo, then-president of television at Imagine Entertainment, first reached out to Reggie Rock Bythewood to gauge his interest in the sports drama that would become Swagger, he wasn’t immediately on board.
“There was something really interesting happening during that time,” recalls Bythewood, the creator, writer, director and executive producer of the Apple TV+ series. “In that same week, two other people hit me about basketball projects. I was like, ‘What is in the air?’
Still, Bythewood was somewhat intrigued by the idea of a TV show loosely inspired by NBA star Kevin Durant’s youth basketball days. Victor Wembanyama, the best NBA prospect since at least LeBron James, will likely play for the San Antonio Spurs. The team won the NBA’s closely-watched draft lottery tonight and will, unless something bizarre happens, draft the 7’3″ Frenchman next month.
The news instantly vaults the lowly the San Antonio Spurs into playoff contention. It will also ensure sold out arenas for years to come for the franchise, as well as a vastly-increased national TV presence on TNT, ABC and ESPN.
That latter network’s Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski — a man not given to hyperbole — said before the draft today, “This is the most highly-anticipated player to ever enter the NBA…maybe the greatest prospect in the history of team sports.”
The 19-year-old Wembanyama has an eight-foot wingspan and is an outstanding shot-blocker. He often draws comparisons to perennial All Star Kevin Durant, not just for his willowy frame but...

It looks like Travis Scott’s long-anticipated Utopia album is on the way. While attending an Astros game in Houston Monday night, the musician told a cameraman that he played the album for his hometown team before their matchup with the Chicago Cubs. Soon after the game, a viral clip emerged of the star in the Astros dugout, changing his shoes while hyping up the listening session.
“[Utopia’s] on the way, Mark,” he told the cameraman. “Had to come here and play Utopia for the boys down in the locker room.

It’s getting down to the end on “Dancing With the Stars,” as two pairs were sent home on Monday night.
For ’90s night, all of the duos performed to hit songs from the decade, with Wayne Brady, Charli D’Amelio and Gabby Windy all earning perfect scores.
One of the most powerful routines of the night was a jazz performance by Daniel Durant and Britt Stewart to Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence.” Everyone was emotional, including Derek Hough who choked back tears as he told the pair, “That was so insanely powerful. It made me realize how much I depend on the music. So to share that experience, that was impactful.”
Afterward, Stewart noted that it was a “profound moment” for her to be part of the partnership with Durant and dancing without music allowed them to connect even further. The routine earned the duo their first 10s, and...

“Our town has a doctor, and his name is Rendell.
Stay away from his house, he’s a doctor from hell.
Chopped up his patients, every last one.
And cut out their hearts, purely for fun.
So if you’re from Moorehigh, and you should should get sick,
Then fall on your knees, and pray you die quick.”
- Dr. Giggles
The nursery rhyme in Manny Coto’s 1992 slasher Dr. Giggles never caught on with horror fans like the “One, Two, Freddy’s Coming for You” song in the Nightmare on Elm Street films or “The Ballad of Harry Warden” in My Bloody Valentine. The film had better luck, but it still seems underrated, which is too bad, because Dr. Giggles is quite a bit of bloody fun that’s just waiting to be reappraised and celebrated.
