From my experience, horror films are always the most interesting but least attended films at smaller film festivals as festival audiences seem to be more interested in stories about losing your virginity than werewolves and zombies. However, two venues in Telluride, Colorado hope to serve that small group of dedicated art-house horror fans with three days of horror films from around the world at the 3rd annual Telluride Horror Show.
Below is the list of films scheduled to screen at the Telluride Horror Show, which takes place on October 12, 13, and 14, 2012.

Bing Bailey's Dublin set mock-zom-doc is something of an oddity. Try to imagine a zombie movie in which basically everyone is okay with the fact that there are zombies around every corner, lurking in bedrooms and hallways in housing estates; just another problem alongside unemployment, failing marriages and the price of tea. People go to work, visit relatives and carry on as if the zombie epidemic was just another one of life's burdens, a bit like accepting that we're in the middle of a global financial meltdown that has nothing to do with us, but for which we're paying the price. And yet it's played largely straight and not for laughs. I think the word that comes to mind while watching these characters is simply: Madness. Everyone in this films is insane; zombies, people and film crews, all in it together.

Diary Of A Bad Lad is a no holds barred, unflinching look at the British underground crime scene told through the eyes of a cinephile documentarian who finds him self in too deep with the subjects of his latest project. Having a limited five day release on the dailymotion.com website last year, Diary Of A Bad Lad was viewed by over 167,000 people which created a wealth of interest in the film. Mr. Williams kindly spared some time to discuss the film and to also reveal that UK & Ireland distributor Classic Entertainment is set to give the feature a UK theatrical release targetted for late April, with UK & Ireland DVD across the Hight St release late May/early June. The film’s web-site can be found here.

Last weekend, we showed you the trailer for a new independently produced film called Portrait of a Zombie, which operates as a documentary made by an American film crew studying an Irish family that continues to take care of one of its own who has become a zombie. Of course, he still has to go feed and everything, but the family nevertheless tries to protect its son.
After we wrote the article, the film's writer and director, Bing Bailey, contacted me and shed a little more light on what the film is all about and how he and his crew made Portrait of a Zombie. "It's been a very odd journey the last eight years from working in the World Trade Center doing It & Engineering to making this movie on the street in Dublin where I grew up," Bailey said. He added that the trailer on YouTube and Vimeo don't do the video quality justice,...

I'm not going to argue that we need more zombie movies, but I like where Portrait of a Zombie appears to be headed. It's designed as a documentary of sorts, in which a filmmaking crew making a film about an Irish family taking care of its son after he has been transformed into a zombie, unwittingly becomes part of that story.
I like it because it's not just the same thing all over again. We don't see anyone trying to humanize zombies in our movies, and that may be what writer-director Bing Bailey clutched onto first when developing this story: What happens next when a family protects its zombie son, and how do they come to terms with the fact that he's gotta eat sooner or later?
It looks like a pretty low-budget affair, but that fits the mold of both zombie movies and documentaries. So we'll see how long...

- 28 Days Later Analysis
It’s not easy these days to get excited about zombie movies. Everyone and their uncle has made one, flooding the market with cheap, unimpressive direct-to-video flicks that do nothing but drag the genre down into the mire. Thankfully, there are a few exceptions, and Ireland's own writer/director/producer (yes he does it all) Bing Bailey’s upcoming zombie opus “Portrait of a Zombie” certainly falls into the later category....
This first trailer is quite impressive, if not a bit ambiguous. And while the clip embedded below might just be a cleverly edited presentation that ultimately masks the picture’s numerous flaws and shortcomings, we're willing to give Mr. Bailey’s tale of undead woe the benefit of the doubt. .

It’s extremely hard to get excited about zombie movies these days. Everyone and their gluttonous grandmother has made one, flooding the market with cheap, unimpressive direct-to-video genre flicks that do nothing but drag the genre down into the mire. After all, I enjoy a strong zombie movie as much as the next pasty white suburban moron. I can honestly say that with a minimal amount of shame. Since the trailer isn’t very forthcoming,...

Yes, there are an awful lot more bad zombie films than there are good ones these days and there are arguably just too many of them, period, but we keep paying attention because from time to time somebody produces something truly worthwhile. And it looks as though Ireland's Bing Bailey may be one of those someones. Credited for doing just about everything on the upcoming Portrait of a Zombie - which Bing wrote, directed, edited, and produced produced while Toni Bailey, who I presume is some sort of family relation, handled the art direction - Bing has put enough of a novel spin on the genre to keep it interesting while also pulling off some very impressive zombie effects on his tight budget.

Multi-hyphenate Bing Bailey has posted a teaser trailer for his Irish indie effort Portrait of a Zombie which he penned, directed, edited and produced. It's another undead entry that puts the bite on the "reality" narrative in that you watch the events unfold through the lens of a documentary crew. Take a look: Zombies roam the streets of Dublin. An American documentary crew come to Ireland to make a documentary about the Murphy Family, whose eldest son Billy has turned, but the family still choose to care for him, much to the chagrin of the neighbors and the local crime boss. The Documentary crew soon become enthralled in the proceedings as Billy's story unfolds... Portrait of a Zombie - Teaser from Portrait of a Zombie on Vimeo .
