13 Reasons Why showrunner signs two-year deal with Paramount TV.
Paramount Television has closed an exclusive overall television deal with Pulitzer Prize winner Brian Yorkey.
The 13 Reasons Why showrunner and executive producer has signed a two-year deal with Paramount TV.
The overall deal gives Paramount TV exclusive rights to develop, produce and distribute all television projects from Yorkey across broadcast, cable and digital services.
The announcement comes on the heels of the recent second season renewal of Paramount TV’s series for Netflix, 13 Reasons Why, which was adapted for television by Yorkey from Jay Asher’s bestselling Ya book.
Yorkey serves as executive producer alongside Tom McCarthy, Selena Gomez, Joy Gorman, Kristel Laiblin, Mandy Teefey, Steve Golin and Michael Sugar.

Netflix is continuing it’s impressive streak of quality shows. This year already saw A Series of Unfortunate Events dominate pop culture conversation, and as we know, Netflix has the ambitious goal to increase their original content. As such, there's a whole lot more where that came from. On that list of new shows is 13 Reasons Why, a series from executive producers Tom McCarthy, Brian Yorkey, Selena Gomez, Joy Gorman, and Kristen Laiblin.
You’ll likely recognize at least one of those names, and if you’re a film fan, perhaps even two. The first name you may recognize, of course, is former Disney star Selena Gomez. In fact, this entire thing is the pet project between her, her mother, and Laiblin, who originally planned on adapting the novel of the same name into a film.
In October of last year, it was revealed that they’d actually be turning...

The singer-actress shared an eerie first look of her upcoming “passion project,” Netflix’s teen drama series, 13 Reasons Why, via her Instagram on Wednesday. The 13-episode series, which she executive produces (her first major producing credit), premieres Friday, March 31.

Based on the best-selling 2007 Ya novel by Jay Asher, 13 Reasons Why follows Clay Jenson (Dylan Minnette) as he returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside, he discovers cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford), his classmate and crush, who committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah references 13 people who may have contributed to her decision to end her life, and so the story begins.

Derek Luke and Lindsay Sloane are in negotiations to join "Seeking a Friend at the End of the World" for Mandate Pictures says Variety.
Steve Carell and Keira Knightley star as neighbors who embark on a road trip to find the former's high school sweetheart before an asteroid ends all life on Earth.
Luke is in talks to play Knightley's ex-boyfriend, a military man preparing to ride out the end of the world in his bomb shelter with friends and family. Sloane will play a friendly waitress who is rolling on ecstasy as doomsday approaches.
William Petersen, Adam Brody and Rob Corddry are also in various stages of negotiations to join the cast. Lorene Scafaria ("Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist") directs from her own screenplay.
Steve Golin, Joy Gorman, Steven Rales and Mark Roybal will produce and shooting kicks off later this month.
