Our favorite Hgtv stars know how to transform a terrible, crumbling, bug-infested old kitchen into a subway-tiled and shiplap-lined beauty, no problem. But what do the cook spaces they come home to after a long day of flipping and fixing look like?
Well, turns out they’re pretty much as gorgeous as you’d expect, as revealed in the November issue of Hgtv Magazine. Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Waco space features regularly on their hit show Fixer Upper, and its farmhouse-modern motifs hold up, even with four kids — Drake, 12, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie Kay, 7 — in the mix.

Hgtv’s Chip Wade abides by the first rule of a successful car ride: Everyone pees before they leave the house. But the star of Super Great Rooms on the Diy Network and regular on Ellen’s Design Challenge (and, you may have guessed, a dad to young kids), has a few more expert tips in mind to ensure you avoid any traumatic roadside experiences, and are fully prepared for the few bumps you can’t avoid.

Ellen's Design Challenge was short, but boy was that ending a whopper. The hit Hgtv show concluded last night with a shocking epilogue: Tim McClellan, the Western-style furniture designer who'd been named the winner, was disqualified and runner-up Katie Stout learned she would take home the $100,000 prize. To be fair, producer and namesake Ellen DeGeneres had warned her audience on Monday's episode of her eponymous talk show that the finale would be "very dramatic. Even if you think you know what's going to happen, you don't know nothin'." At the end of Monday's finale, the episode flashed to one week...

We’re down to the final three, and this week, Britany, Hilari and Danielle meet up with mentor David Bromstad in a field, where’s he’s surrounded by yurts. David explains that in keeping with the Hgtv Design Star tradition of decorating untraditional spaces, (glass homes and tiny houses), the final three will design for a yurt. David explains that yurts are portable structure with round walls built on a wood lattice frame. They are originally from Asia and have been used for centuries.
The challenge is to turn their yurts into fantasy bedroom suites. They’ll have two days to complete the challenge, and they’ll have the help of some of Hgtv and Diy’s best known carpenters. Danielle is assigned Chip Wade, who I know from Curb Appeal the Block, but who apparently has his own show, Elbow Room. Britany will work with the “star carpenter” of Design on a Dime,...
