Madrid, Jan 26 (Ians) The La Liga season reaches its midway point in Spain this weekend, with several clubs involved in the Copa del Rey knockout tournament, facing a pile-up of fixtures in a non-stop beginning to the year.
League leaders Fc Barcelona face a short trip to play Girona, just three days after booking their place in the semifinals of the Cup with a 1-0 win at home to Real Sociedad.
Midfielder Pedri is a slight doubt for the game with a muscle problem that saw him forced off on Wednesday and with another league match against Betis next week. Barca coach Xavi Hernandez may not risk such a key player.
Ferran Torres is available again after suspension, but Robert Lewandowski is out as he serves the last game of a three-match ban.

Madrid (Spain), Jan 25 (Ians) La Liga club Villarreal are on the verge of losing two international strikers in the coming days, with Arnaut Danjuma and Nicholas Jackson close to sealing moves to the Premier League.
Danjuma is reported to be close to a loan move to Tottenham, despite having undergone a medical at Everton at the weekend.
It looked as if the move to the Liverpool-based club had been agreed upon, but Tottenham have taken advantage of the chaos at Everton after Monday’s sacking of Frank Lampard as head coach and expressed interest before the loan deal was signed, reports Xinhua.
The 25-year-old, who has six international appearances for the Netherlands and has scored 12 goals in 33 league appearances for Villarreal, now looks likely to move to Tottenham.
Villarreal’s 21-year-old Senegal international Nicolas Jackson is also Premier League bound, with Jackson set to undergo a medical at Danjuma...

Madrid, Oct 24 (Ians) Fc Barcelona remain three points behind Real Madrid at the top of La Liga after a 4-0 win at home to Athletic Bilbao on Sunday night.
One of Barca’s best performances of the season coincided with Bilbao’s worst as Barca led 3-0 at the break thanks to Ousmane Dembele’s 12th-minute header, followed by Sergi Roberto’s 18th-minute shot, which took a slight deflection to lift it over Athletic keeper Unai Simon.
Robert Lewandowski added a third in the 22nd minute and Bilbao weren’t helped by Ander Herrera limping off injured, reports Xinhua.
Herrera’s replacement Dani Garcia also had to go off injured in what was a relatively tepid second half which saw Ferran Torres score Barca’s fourth following a pass from Dembele.
Atletico Madrid moved third after a 2-1 win away to Real Betis thanks to two goals from Antoine Griezmann.

Welcome to this review of 2022’s All Out pay-per-view, which once again emanated from Chicago and saw home town boy Cm Punk challenge once again for the Aew World Title and a couple of surprises up its sleeve – but No, I don’t mean new additions to the roster! Let’s get into it…
Zero Hour: Match #1: Aaa Mixed Tag Team Championship Match – Ortiz & Ruby Soho def. Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo
My Thoughts: This started out so well, with Ortiz and Soho running Sammy over with a gold cart in a brilliant call-back to Sammy’s experience with said vehicle. Ortiz looked like a machine in this match, delivering some strong, hard moves to combat Guevara’s speed and agility. This match moved fast, with only a brief lull in action whilst it looked like, the teams recovered from the ridiculous fast-paced, high impact in-ring action! Wrong team won...
