Anna Ovsyanikova

Originally from Russia, violinist Anna Ovsyanikova had made her international debut as a soloist with orchestra in Germany at the age of 16, and got offered places at music colleges in France, UK and Switzerland but chose to come to the UK securing a full scholarship first at Birmingham Conservatoire for an undergraduate degree and then at the Royal Academy of Music for a Masters degree. She graduated from both with distinctions and DipRAM - the award for the highest mark for a final recital at the Royal Academy of Music. She is a doctorate student at the Royal College of Music, where she is exploring the art of dedication in music and artistic legacy of Mathieu Crickboom, to whom Eugene Ysaÿe dedicated his solo violin sonata No. 5. She regularly performs as soloist, chamber, orchestral and session musician, most prominently at the Royal Opera House in London. She performed with and recorded music for Thom Yorke, Frank Ocean, Donovan, Jimmy Page, Goldfrapp, Johnny Greenwood, Bastille and Beck.
