Rebecca-Clare Evans’ Caged Film has wrapped a three-week shoot in Snowdonia, Wales on Natalie Kennedy’s horror Purgatory.
The film stars Alina Allison from 2023 horror Punch, and Thomas Grant from Pretty Red Dress. Purgatory follows a disabled young woman on her way to university who meets a sadistic serial killer, and who must work to escape an cycle of torment. Evans, Bhaskar Patel, Pat Lally and Millie Thompson also star. A first look at the film has been released, above.

Set in the near future, the film is a portrait of a desperate writer wrestling with her buried past, who signs up for a fully A.I. operated retreat to cure her writer’s block. But when an unforeseen software glitch occurs, she gets trapped inside her unit with an unstable android and no communication with the outside world. Featuring exclusive access to the 14th Dalai Lama and narrated by Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), the film details the religious leader’s daring escape from the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1959 and is told on film for the first time in his own words with the late Har Mander Singh, the Indian political officer who led him safely to India.
With an original score by artist Anouska Shankar and inspired by the book An Officer and His Holiness by Rani Singh, the film is produced and directed by Jean-Paul Mertinez.

Sci-fi drama “Blank” has wrapped filming and is now in post-production, with a first-look image released of the lead actresses. The movie stars “L Word” and “Deep State” actress Rachel Shelley, and “Poldark’s” Heida Reed. The cast also features U.S. star Wayne Brady, whose credits include “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Let’s Make a Deal” and “How I Met Your Mother.”

Paris-based sales company WTFilms has acquired international rights for UK director Paul Hyett’s supernatural horror picture Heretiks ahead of the American Film Market later this month (Oct 31-Nov 7).
The film world premiered at the Arrow Video FrightFest in London in August and is due to have its North American premiere this month at the Telluride Horror Show Film Festival.

Principal photography has begun on Heretiks, a supernatural horror from Paul Hyett, director of werewolves-on-a-train feature Howl.
Starring Michael Ironside (Total Recall), Clare Higgins (Hellraiser) and Hannah Arterton (Walking On Sunshine), the film is set in Britain in the 17th Century and follows a young woman who, after being saved from execution, discovers a new evil within her.
Producers are Marcia Do Vales for Spain’s EnMar Productions and Michael Riley for the UK’s Sterling Pictures.
Executive producers are Gary Collins for Red Rock Entertainment and Lyndon Baldock for Templeheart Films.
Hyett has co-written the script with Conal Palmer. The pair previously collaborated on 2012’s The Seasoning House.
