SAG-AFTRA members re-elected Fran Drescher as their president with a landslide victory Friday. It’s a firm nod of confidence in “The Nanny” star as the actors union’s strike hit 56 days.
Drescher, 65, won a second term with 81.4% of the vote while beating Maya Gilbert-Dunbar, actress and the wife of “9-1-1” star Rockmond Dunbar. Gilbert-Dunbar took 18.6% of the vote.
In the race for secretary-treasurer, Joely Fisher received 70.3% while her opponent, Peter Antico, had 29.7%.
“These are dynamic times,” Drescher said in a statement. “And as one member body, we will weather the storms, stand on our principles and make sure our major contributions to this collaborative art form shall never again be diminished but rather be exalted.
“I want all members to be equal in all ways and I will continue to fight against marginalization and discrimination within our union, from our employers and the world at large,” said Drescher,...

So You Think You Can Dance‘s quartet of judges had an unenviable task on Monday night: Take a group of astoundingly talented male dancers, and cut it down from 10 to five.
Last week, Nigel Lythgoe & Co. made similarly tough decisions with the ladies, selecting only five of them to advance to the Top 10 and the live shows. This week, it was time for the gentlemen to make their cases — but some of them just weren’t persuasive enough.

So you think you can guess who won the fifteenth season of “So You Think You Can Dance?” No need. The season came to a close on Monday when Hannahlei Cabanilla was announced the winner.
Meanwhile, second place went to Jensen Arnold, third place to Genessy Castillo and Slavik Pustovoytov came in fourth.
The show celebrated the Cabanilla’s victory on Twitter, but cannily did not actually spoil who it was.
It's official — America has named it's favorite dancer!
Congratulations to every one of our contestants for all of their amazing work on this season of #Sytycd. ????????♀️???? pic.twitter.com/N7UP0yGMom

Among the highlights from the two-hour episode was this barnstormer of a number featuring the entire top 10 Sytycd finalists stepping up to “Yummy” by Gwen Stefani and Pharrell. What the hell is with that ice cream cone, though?
Re-experience this carnival of scrumptiousness! ???????????????? #Sytycd pic.

Choreographer Mandy Moore was determined to give jazz dance its best representation possible on “So You Think You Can Dance.” During the live show on Monday night, August 27, she worked with the only jazz dancer left in the competition, Jay Jay Dixonbey, along with “Sytycd” all-star (and season seven winner) Lauren Froderman for an energetic number that was perfectly suited to unleash Dixonbey’s athleticism as well as his infectious personality. Watch it above.
Judge Mary Murphy thought Moore’s choreography was “out of this world … and Jay Jay, you were the star of it. Nobody looks like they’re having more fun in the movement, in the moment than you.” Nigel Lythgoe assured Moore that America will appreciate jazz “having seen this routine. It was absolutely brilliantly choreographed.” He especially loved the split-jump Dixonbey did over Froderman’s head in the middle of the routine, so much so that...

On July 30 “So You Think You Can Dance” decided the rest of the top 10 contestants who will move forward to the live shows. So who moved forward, and whose dreams were “shattered,” as was teased in the preview for this week’s show? Find out below in our live blog with all the night’s developments as they happen.
After the initial auditions more than 70 hopefuls were brought to the Academy. After a series of solos and group dances those competitors were gradually winnowed down to top 20, who thought they had earned their ticket to the live shows — but not yet! The judges surprised them with one more round of cuts after which only 10 dancers will get to perform live for America’s votes.

Does anyone know what just happened? Britain's Got Talent possibly had one of its most bonkers episodes ever tonight, thanks to a hypnotic dog (sure), a man dressed as a nun on a motorised piano, and Simon Cowell actually being nice. What the hell was that about?
Look, Bgt has always had its odder moments, but for good portions of this episode we wondered whether we'd fallen asleep and dreamt the whole crazy thing.
Where do we begin? How about at the start, with Musical Ruth... also known as Matthew Hunt. Musical Ruth was the aforementioned male nun who drove a piano round the stage singing 'Give Me Oil In My Lamp', which we genuinely haven't heard since we were sat cross-legged in assembly 15 years ago.
Obviously, Simon buzzed immediately ("It was one of the worst acts I think I've seen on this show") but David couldn't resist a ride on the piano.

So You Think You Can Dance fans, I have a dilemma.
For much of Wednesday’s Top 10 performance show — which paired each finalist with an All-Star dancer from seasons past — I couldn’t quite decide whether the Top 10 were put at an advantage or disadvantage by dancing with Sytycd vets.
Take, for example, what I considered tonight’s most entertaining routine: a fun hip-hop number between Jessica Richens and her All-Star companion, Twitch. On her own, Jessica did an excellent job with the fast-paced routine (and started to break away from the idea that she can only excel at jazz...

To mark the occasion, Daily Dead recently chatted with Uncle Lloydie about his latest directorial effort, his approach to controversial material, and what kind of madness Troma fans can expect from Volume 2:
Thanks so much for taking time to speak with me today, Lloyd. Being a big Troma fan, I thought Return to Nuke ‘Em High (Volume 1) might be my favorite sequel to come out of Tromaville. With it being a few years since you were in the director’s chair, why did you decide to return with the Nuke ‘Em High franchise?
Lloyd Kaufman: Oh, thank you! You know, it takes me a long time to develop a script that I think the fans will like so it can be years on a project until we...

The original Class of Nuke 'Em High mixed fears of nuclear power into a pungent broth of New Wave teenage rebellion and gross-out FX.
The latest sequel stirs in anxiety over Gmo foods, as the old power plant has been replaced with a shady food distributor called TromOrganic. One tainted Taco Tuesday later, and a group of put-upon high school outcasts (an unfunny parody of Glee) have mutated into a terrorizing gang of Cretins, just like in the old days.
Meanwhile Lauren (Catherine Corcoran), the new girl at school, is beginning a secret relationship with classmate Chrissy (Asta Paredes), an anti-TromOrganic blogger, while she looks for her missing pet duck. (The ramshackle plot never concludes, either, pausing till Volume 2.)

One of the things we like to do here at BollySpice is not only focus on the world of Bollywood, but also to shine the light on artists outside of Hindi films. This week, we are featuring dancer Alex Wong. Because of his outstanding technique and talent, he is known as Alex “Freakin” Wong to the fans of the popular Us dance show, So You Think You Can Dance. A classically trained ballet dancer, he was a soloist with Miami City Ballet when he first auditioned for the dance reality show in 2009. He was unable to compete that season because of a contract issue with the ballet company. The next year Alex was back and was on his way to winning the show when tragedy struck and he tore his achilles tendon. That didn’t stop this amazing dancer. He worked hard at his recovery and made it back to...

Check out what he had to say about working on season 10 of the fabulous dance reality show and more in part 2 of our exclusive interview!
It was a great season this year for Bollywood on Sytycd…
You know, it was a little later than normal when they contacted me for this season. I never take anything for granted. That is just who I am. Anything that comes to me I embrace it I just feel a sense of gratitude, even if it is something that happens every year for me, I never, ever feel that it is going to happen no matter what.

Mumbai, Sep 15: International dancer-actress Lauren Gottlieb may have ended up as the first runner up on "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6", but she is not disappointed. She feels it's a big achievement for her to reach the finale despite being a foreigner.

As summer inches to a close, we look back at some of the most memorable events that shaped the celebrity world from June through August 2013. They are, in no particular order:
Kim Kardashian Gave Birth & North West's Photo Was Finally Revealed
The reality star's pregnancy was one of the most followed, photographed and talked-about, maybe ever. Every bumpin' look was carefully analyzed, her weight viciously dissected in tabloids, baby name speculations ran rampant. Then, on June 15, Kim gave birth to a healthy baby girl, whom Kanye and she named North (Nori for short). It wasn't until over two months later that North West was revealed to the world via photo on grandmother Kris Jenner's talk show.
The Royal Baby, Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, Was Born
Another highly anticipated baby was the royal heir to the throne. Many comparisons were unnecessarily made between Kate Middleton and Kim Kardashian's pregnancies,...

American Idol has been headed straight for an iceberg the last couple of seasons — a secret to no one except, perhaps, key executives at Fox and Fremantle Media.
Yet their recent chatter about changes to the show’s upcoming (and pivotal) Season 13 — which has been focused almost entirely on a rebooted judges’ panel, and not a rebooted outlook on what a judges’ panel should actually do – has me concerned that they’re merely slapping a fresh coat of paint on the luxury cruiseliner of reality competition shows. And really, what’s the point of that if the destination continues to...

After spending 90 days in rehab, the 27-year-old is out of treatment and ready for a fresh start. Lohan looked happy and well-rested as she emerged from Cliffside Treatment Center in Malibu on July 30 wearing a daisy-print dress and suede-fringe jacket. From the minute he walked in, you knew Collin was trouble. The new kid in school had a swagger that instantly caught Jenna's eye and spoke to her intellectual side in a way Matty simply couldn't (also, he was smoking hot). But not even Taylor Swift could have anticipated how Jenna's crush would end up crushing fans in the closing seconds of last night's finale when she kissed Collin and kept it from Matty.
Yes, thanks to a cruelly clever twerking of time, Awkward spared Matty the sight of his Gf smooching another and left the audience responsible for branding Jenna with a scarlet letter. Yet, despite our collective adoration of Matty McKibben, I totally understand why Jenna strayed (I don't, however, support her tactics) -- and much of that has to do with the charisma actor Nolan Funk brings to the role of Collin. I caught up with him to talk about last night's big reveal...

Ausiello: I see what you did there. Scandalous. Scandal. Clever. I may steal that for next week’s AA. In the meantime, conventional wisdom points to the elusive mole being unmasked in the May 16 finale. Kerry Washington, meanwhile, points to it being the person you’d least expect. “It’s so shocking,” the actress tells us with a huge, hearty laugh.

For a show called "Glee," it tackled some really heavy material last night: School shootings. And just like "One Tree Hill," "American Horror Story" and "Degrassi" before them, the Fox show has sparked some serious debate for how it handled the material.Warning: Spoilers below. This week, the glee club found themselves hiding in the rehearsal space after gunshots rang out through McKinley High.In a 10-minute, uninterrupted sequence, the audience watched in horror as teenagers recorded videos for their families on their cell phones, hid on top of toilets while sobbing and cowered in fear while someone tried to get into the locked choir room. The scene obviously drew parallels to the recent shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School -- and, for some, it was really tough to watch. On the Newtown Action Alliance Facebook page, friends, family and supporters of the Sandy Hook victims debated the episode after...
