Hell hath no fury like two potential understudies scorned! Rebecca better watch her back. Just when you thought Ellis (Jaime Cepero) was the worst thing to happen to Bombshell, along came Rebecca Duvall (Uma Thurman) on the April 16 episode of Smash to remind us all that, despite what Dan Savage claims, it doesn't always get better. After butchering "Let Me Be Your Star," Rebecca introduced a few creative changes to the show: In a nutshell, longer scenes and less singing -- which is great for a musical. The only bright side to Rebecca's arrival was the unlikely alliance of Karen (Katharine McPhee) and Ivy (Megan Hilty). Hell hath no fury like a potential understudy scorned, so between Karen's tenacity and Ivy's crippling addiction to prescription drugs, I'm sure they'll be able to cook up a wacky scheme for ol' Becky. But maybe Ivy should help Karen out with her man problems first.

Bully
Directed by: Lee Hirsch
Running Time: 1 hr 30 mins
Rating: PG-13
Release Date: April 13, 2012 (Chicago)
Plot: A documentary that tells the stories of American youth who are bullied in their middle schools.
Who’S It For? Bully is made for both kids and their parents, but will provides little answers about dealing with such problems to either of them. The film’s main focus is to share horror stories (which are sadly true) about the damage that bullying does not just to children, but their parents as well.
Overall
For a “character-driven drama,” Bully is full of too many weakly developed subjects to squeeze much out of its audience other than relatable sympathy. We watch in anger the episodes of relentless bullying in Alex’s life, but showing a conclusion or a solution to his problems seems out of the question for the filmmakers. In not providing us this satisfaction,...

I cringed when I saw the promos for last night's 20/20 and their "exclusive" first interview with former Rutgers University student Dharun Ravi, just found guilty on 15 counts -- including invasion of privacy and bias intimidation -- last week for spying with a webcam while his roommate, Tyler Clementi, was on a date with another man in their dorm room. My gut was right, for the most part, as I watched last night.
I was horrified at not only the sensationalism, but the near complete lack of depth to this very complex case that has been the subject of so much media coverage. This piece was a horrible way to give voice to Ravi, who, I think, came off as smug and without any real sense of the consequences and cruelty) of his actions in a manner that was offensive to anyone who has been subjected to bullying of any kind.

I have long admired Dan Savage's advice, especially to struggling queers. Like Kate Bornstein's advice to Teens, Freaks and Other Outlaws, Savage's advice inspires me to keep in mind the invisible struggles of non-conformers. I have also found daily inspiration in the viral responses to Savage's (and Terry Miller's) "It Gets Better" campaign. It is revolutionary and empowering to watch videos on demand in which, as Chris Rovzar wrote in 2010 in New York Magazine, "grown-ups ... tell gay kids that things will be easier in the future, when they are out of school, or when they are simply older and more comfortable with who they are."
While the "It Gets Better" campaign initially intended to represent happy and adjusted older queers to struggling younger queers, the campaign evolved to encourage anyone to tell a struggling person that the future will be easier and more fun than the present.

Wow. "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart and correspondent John Oliver explained Thursday how Mitt Romney is a bit like a baby conceived during a rape -- and why Republican voters should keep him. They suggested that rival presidential candidate Rick Santorum is too honest for the party's tastes, citing his willingness to say things that other conservatives cloak in coded language. Santorum has said, for example, that a woman should not abort a fetus conceived during a rape -- despite the horrible circumstances of its conception. Also read: How Dan Savage Might...

'Gay people [are] not Rick Santorum's punching bag, and we will punch back,' Savage tells MTV News of controversial website.

In 2003, when columnist Dan Savage decided to take on then-u.S. Of course, a lot can happen in eight years. Savage launched his campaign to "attach [Santorum's] name to a sex act that would make his big, white teeth fall out of his big, empty head," started a website that displayed the definition of the sex act in question (chosen from more than 3,000 reader-submitted suggestions) and watched with disbelief as that website became a prominent result for...

I'm sure it would be the same with any head-of-state, but from a human level, it seemed odd.
I really had no idea where the concept of "proof" for alcohol came from. I certainly never understood that it involved gunpowder.
I'm going to agree with Queerty: Tla Video trying to sell gay videos by wondering "What Would Jerry Sandusky Watch?" is completely reprehensible. Children were allegedly raped, and they want to sell DVDs about incest, or gay films with "boy" in the title?
Newt Gingrich has published a plan to establish a presidential commission if elected to oppose any attempt to enforce the separation of church and state.

Thanks for the break guys – it's almost like you don't need me at all. But you're stuck with me.
Just as news breaks that Hung was canceled, Thomas Jane makes the news again, "correcting" his months-old quote about sandwiches that everyone took to mean he'd turned a few gay tricks for cash in his youth. "In the interviews that I did, I never said I was a prostitute. I was talking about my [early] time in Hollywood: I said that I’d had a sexually adventurous time and I was trying to relate that to how I play a prostitute on TV." Maybe next time don't imply something obvious and end the quote with "Know what I mean?" because obviously no one does. I feel used and dirty, like he managed the press to cover his bigoted prior remarks. I'll never watch anything he does again.
Lars Von Trier isn't know for subtlety.
