Shira Gregory

Shira Gregory is an Israeli-born American actor and visual artist. Some
theatre credits include: Broadway - Frost/Nixon (Evonne Goolagong);
Off-off Broadway - The Hypochondriac. Shira received Audience Awards
for Best Actress and Best (co-)Writer for her work on "Birchwood" via
the 2009 NYC Film Race. Shira graduated with honors from Skidmore
College with a degree in English and attended the New York State
Writers Institute. She earned her acting chops at the Caymichael Patten
Studio with Ms. Patten, and at the Yale School of Drama summer
intensive courses. Shira is also a founding member of the collaborative
theatre company, The Hive.
As a visual artist, her training is based in realism, akin to the teachings of Hans Hofmann. Her mentor in art is the great Jim Wheeler, whom she also credits with shaping her world view (honed and reshaped by life, New York City, Buddhism and what have you along the way). Favorite artists include Egon Schiele, Auguste Rodin, Gustav Klimt, Michelangelo and the drawings of Pablo Picasso, among many more.
Shira enjoys traveling, practicing yoga and living in Brooklyn with her husband and two cats.
