A project that has dipped in and out of the news so often we'd long since begun to think it would never happen, the Gambit movie now looks as though it's finally moving ahead. Pirates Of The Caribbean director Gore Verbinski has now formally signed up as director, and will be working from a script written by Josh Zetumer. Unless something mysterious has happened behind the scenes, Channing Tatum's still on board in the title role.
Gambit even has a release date: the 14th February - now 20th Century Fox's favourite month, we're guessing, after the huge success of Deadpool. Will Tatum's superhero spin-off gain quite the same traction? We've a fair while before we find out.
