Hong Kong auteur Wong Kar Wai appears to have his next project, author Zhang Jiajia posting on his Weibo account that Wkw has licensed a short tale called The Ferryman from his collection I Belonged To You. It took years for us to get "The Grandmaster" which ultimately opened to mixed reviews. Now, acclaimed filmmaker Wong Kar-wai is turning his attention towards his next film which should hopefully come to fruition quicker.
Film Biz reports that Wong's new project will be an adaptation of top-selling weibo author Zhang Jiajia's short story "Ferryman" from the collection "I Belonged to You". The story follows an affair between a girl and a married artist in Changchun, China.
A top-shelf cast is being assembled for the romantic tale which is expected to commence production next year.

Last week news was reported that we would see Wong Kar-Wai's next movie in 2015, a romance. After many more years of waiting, I'm glad to finally hear he's at it again. But it was finally Film Business Asia (via The Film Stage) that landed confirmation,...
