Dishoom
Starring: John Abraham, Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Akshaye Khanna, Virat Kohli (just kidding) and a dog named Bradman (not kidding)
Directed by Rohit Dhawan
Rating: *** ½
Everybody in Dishoom is shown to be in a tearing hurry. Some, like the flighty Miss Fernandez seem to be running to nowhere quite furiously. But everyone is determined to get some place.
Fast.
Dishoom is one of the most fast-paced Bollywood bromances in recent times. Bromance, it sure is. And a pretty cool one at that. With John Abraham (excellent as the strong silent sturdy he-man type) and Varun Dhawan (endearingly vulnerable clumsy but finally dependable) helming the hyperventilating hi-jinks, director Rohit Dhawan can’t go wrong.
He doesn’t.
Plus there is cricket which as we all know is religion in India. So what happens when Virat, fictionally altered to Viraj, is kidnapped by a mean money machine named Wagah (probably because...

To the world, John F. Kennedy Jr. was the son of the slain president who grew up and became an impossibly handsome, charming and articulate man with a world of possibility ahead. But to his friends, he was just "John," the lovable, loyal, goofy pal who threw rocks at their window when he lost his keys, wasn't as athletically gifted as he seemed - and who carried his name and legacy with an innate sense of grace. It all came to a tragic end 17 years ago, when John's plane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off of Martha's Vineyard, killing him...

Looking, Season 2, Episode 5: “Looking for Truth”
Directed by Andrew Haigh
Written by Tanya Saracho
Airs Sundays at 10 Pm on HBO
Patrick really does seem to have ended it with Kevin. This is the one rational decision he has made since Looking began and could be interpreted as evidence that he has matured, able to see himself in a toxic relationship and get himself out of it. They encounter each other at the office and Patrick holds his ground, rejecting Kevin unequivocally. Kevin still wants to have it both ways, sleeping with Patrick but living with John, ostensibly to not hurt John’s feelings. But watching that scene with John, the first real introduction to a character viewers have heard a lot about and seen in the distance but never spent any time with, makes it clear that Kevin is being cruel to his boyfriend by not ending it. Here he is,...

When we last left our "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" castaways, two people had gone home -- Colton claims he quit to help Caleb's game. Uh huh. Who will go home tonight?
Redemption Island
Candice is understandably dismayed to find her husband arriving at their Redemption camp. He's like, "Sorry you've been here without me" and she's like, "Dude, it's not good that we're both here." We appreciate the sentiment, but c'mon, John.
The next morning at the duel, Candice is mad at John's tribe, saying she wished it was Brad who walked into Redemption. The show's editing acts like her saying he's "somebody she could hate" and calling him a "child" is akin to her running over his dog with a truck or something. It's a game, gang. Calm down.
John does take the time to call him out and warn people, then we get to the duel. It's...

BAMcinemaFest is now in full swing and Brooklyn cinephiles are getting a chance to sample some of the films they might have missed at Sundance, Cannes and SXSW. Though the festival is already halfway over, there are still plenty of interesting films coming up, including So Yong Kim’s “For Ellen,” Josh Radnor’s “Liberal Arts” and Craig Zobel’s “Compliance” among others. Check out the full line-up here. One of the highlights of the fest so far has been Ry Russo-Young’s “Nobody Walks.” The dramedy centers on young artist Martine (Olivia Thirlby) who comes to stay in the pool house of a Los Angeles family while she completes her short film. The family includes sound designer Peter (John Krasinski), his wife Julie (Rosemarie DeWitt), a therapist, and teenage daughter Kolt (India Ennenga) who are all affected in one way or another by their new houseguest.

This week, the lovers were off to Dubrovnik, Croatia. The guys rode in on a boat fawning at how "amazing" "breathtaking" and "unreal" Croatia was. (I wish a country paid me to say dumb stuff. Croatia, are you reading? I want my free trip!)

Emily and Travis walked around the city, hand in hand, Emily holding a guidebook as a prop. They partook in local activities and danced in the streets. Travis thought it was all "a 10 on a scale of eight."
Emily said she liked Travis' silly side, but was looking for romance at dinner. (This lady takes dinner very seriously.) Travis told her he hadn't dated anyone in two years, since his last relationship ended,...

A lawyer for John Travolta has moved swiftly to discredit a fourth masseur who stepped forward to accuse the actor of propositioning him.
Michael Caputo claims the Grease star was banned from the Peninsula Hotel in New York City for more than three years because of "inappropriate behavior" around spa staff.
He tells The New York Daily News, "Travolta would always request a man for his massage, but after a while no one would take him. It got to the point where they couldn't find any men to take him, and they had to ban him."
Caputo, who no longer works at the hotel, has accused Travolta of "removing his towel, grinding against the massage table and lifting his butt in the air".
He adds, "These are signs to a massage therapist he was trying to see how much he could get away with. They went to management."
Travolta's attorney Marty Singer has dismissed Caputo's claims, branding him a "disgruntled employee".
He says, "If he was banned, do you think he'd ever go back? He's never been banned, I guarantee you... The hotel never told John he was banned, and John never acted improperly."
The latest sensational claims follow those of three other men who came forward to accuse the Hollywood star of sexual misconduct.

The count is now at four. First there was a masseur who claimed that John Travolta touched him inappropriately while also masturbating in front of him. A second masseur came forward with similar claims. Then just yesterday, we heard of a cruise-ship worker, who said that Travolta offered him money to have sex with him. Now, a fourth man is claiming that Travolta was banned from Peninsula Hotel for several years in the early 2000s for his behavior with the staff at the massage spa. "Travolta would always request a man for his massage, but after a while no one would take him because of his inappropriate behavior," said Michael Caputo, an one-time Peninsula masseur. "It got to the point where they couldn't find any men to take him, and they had to ban him." According to Caputo, male staff-members complained about Travolta removing his towel, grinding against the massage...

John Carter
Directed by: Andrew Stanton
Cast: Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Willem Dafoe, Mark Strong
Running Time: 2 hrs 12 mins
Rating: PG-13
Release Date: March 9, 2012
Plot: Civil War veteran John Carter (Kitsch) is suddenly transported to Mars, where he finds himself in the middle of another battle. He encounters a princess who tries to convince John he could change the tide of the war.
Who’S It For?: Fans of science fiction writer Edgar Rice Burroughs ought to get in line immediately, and buy tickets for the second showing. Not because they’ll necessarily fall in love with this high budget carnation, but because they’re probably the biggest hope Disney has of helping this $250 million wannabe blockbuster make its mark. If you like science fiction movies, or action movies, this still isn’t an immediate recommendation for you. This movie would definitely give Ogre from Revenge of the Nerds a brain aneurysm.

As season three of Southland closed out, we saw Ben’s final day with his training officer. It was "Graduation Day" and little boot’s all grown up.
John’s downward spiral continued. His back hurt so badly he could barely walk, so Ben did the heavy lifting, sometimes literally. When Southland started three seasons ago, John was a hard-nosed cop and a tough training officer. Ben may not have always liked him, but he respected him.
Now? What little respect Ben had remaining for John he showed by drawing a line in the sand. Either he gets checked into rehab or Ben would tell their Watch Commander to give John a drug test. Putting his life on the line with a partner who wasn’t there to back him up was unacceptable. John’s the one who taught him that.
How about the perp who plunged to his death from the rooftop?...

John Adeleye made his live TV debut on tonight’s X Factor show.
The London care worker sang Mariah carey’s One Sweet Day and admitted that he hopes his first performance will put him on the map, because many fans of the show still have no idea who he is.
We Love this song, that originally also featured Boyz To Men, and think that John really did it justice. It was a surprisingly good song choice by Louis and the only bad point we could spot was that John was slightly nasal in his delivery.
Judges Comments:
Simon: You look fantastic and I thought that the final note was good. In my opinion you weren’t given the chance to do much with the song. You weren’t given the chance to do something contemporary.
Dannii: I loved the passion that you pout into it. I’m not sure...
