Red Dwarf is returning to television next year for three new episodes. Here are the details of what’s coming up.
According to British Comedy Guide, cult sci-fi comedy show Red Dwarf, which has been going for an incredible 36 years and counting, will return for three half-hour episodes. It’s said these will cover a single story. Filming is set to begin in October and it will be broadcast next year, although it is unclear exactly which channel it will be on. Charles, Barrie, John-Jules and Llewellyn will reprise their roles.
Writers Rob Grant and Doug Naylor reconciled last year, releasing a statement that confirmed that while they had put their differences behind them, they would not be writing together. Each writer will work on separate iterations of the show, with Naylor continuing to write the television series, while Grant is writing a prequel series with 2point4Children writer Andrew Marshall.

In the seventh episode of Death and Other Details, we learned how Imogene’s mother, Kira Scott, was murdered. Kira Scott knew about the corrupt Collier family, who were responsible for a lot of deaths due to their use of a chemical called Captionem Blue in their mill. But Kira couldn’t gather substantial evidence against the Colliers to bring them down, and because of her involvement, she ended up becoming a target of the Colliers. The Colliers orchestrated Kira’s murder by planting an explosive in her car; however, they didn’t know that there was another witness to their atrocities besides Kira. It was the Chun family matriarch, Celia Chun, who helped Kira in her quest to bring the Collier family to justice, but following Kira’s death, she had to back off from her mission. In this penultimate episode of the series, we learn more about Celia...

Jack Rooke’s sitcom Big Boys returns to Channel 4 in January, and the details of the new run have landed.
Big Boys, Jack Rooke’s autobiographical sitcom about his experience at university, was one of the comedic treats of last year.
Derry Girls’ Dylan Llewellyn and Jon Pointing play two disparate young men, Jack and Danny, who find themselves as roommates in their first year of University. The former is closeted and sensitive, the latter is full of boorish bonhomie, but despite their differences they form a touching, tender bond, and Rooke’s writing covers everything from Jack exploring his sexuality to Danny’s mental health.
It proved a hit for Channel 4, which didn’t waste an awful lot of time in ordering up more episodes. Those episodes are nearly with us, too.
What’s more, we now have a synopsis for series two, which reads as follows:

Underscore Talent has added several notable names to its roster. The talent management firm, launched in 2021 by the former co-founders of digital network Studio71, has joined forces with creators like Noah Beck and The Herbert Family by bringing on Maxwell Mitcheson as a Partner.
Mitcheson, who is bringing talent manager Mallory Llewellyn to Underscore with him, is the former Head of Creator Management at TalentX Entertainment. TalentX made a name for itself by working alongside the Sway LA creator house, which served as a residence for Beck and other social stars.
Mitcheson arrived at TalentX in 2020 after previously working for bicoastal talent agency A3 Artists. Esports firm ReKTGlobal acquired TalentX in 2021.
By bringing Mitcheson and Llewellyn into its ranks, Underscore will build on a roster that already includes more than 200 creators. Talent managed by the pair includes Beck, The Herbert Family, Instagram beauty guru Foinika Kay of ExteriorGlam, and makeup influencer Mireya Rios.

Following on from the hugely popular BBC series Death in Paradise, comes the new spin-off, Beyond Paradise, where we swap the golden beaches of the Caribbean for…. Devon. The returning character is fan favourite, the detective Humphrey Goodman, and we had the pleasure in taking part in a junket where we got to speak to Kris Marshall, who plays the role, alongside his on-screen partner Sally Bretton, and mother-in-law Barbara Flynn.
But it wouldn’t be a spin-off without a host of new characters, and we also spoke to Dylan Llewellyn and Felicity Montagu. We not only discussed their new roles, but two of their more memorable from other shows, as Llewellyn firstly tells us what it meant to him to hear that Martin Scorsese is a Derry Girls fan, while Montagu talks about the iconic role of Lynn Benfield from I’m Alan Partridge, as she tells us whether...

Exclusive: Musician Zayn Malik, Simone Ashley (Bridgerton), and comedian Mo Gilligan are among the stacked cast who will lend their voices to the new CG-animated family comedy 10 Lives from director Chris Jenkins (Duck Duck Goose).
Sophie Okonedo (Hotel Rwanda) and Dylan Llewellyn (Derry Girls) round out the cast.
The flick is the story of a pampered and selfish cat who takes for granted the lives he has been dealt. After carelessly losing his ninth life, he begs to be given a second chance, an opportunity to show he can learn from his mistakes. Eventually, his wish is granted but with hilarious stipulations. Gfm Animation will present first-look footage at AFM.
In the film, Gilligan voices Beckett, the pampered feline with a taste for fine food & lazy days who doesn’t know what’s about to hit him when he begs for a new set of lives. Ashley voices Rose, a...

Netflix’s 14 Peaks producer Noah Media Group has boarded a documentary on cult Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh and will shop the show at Mipcom Cannes next week. I Am Irvine Welsh, from Ls Films, followed a year in the life of the Scottish auteur as he adapted Trainspotting into a West End musical, published a new novel, launched a record label and worked on two TV series. BAFTA-nominated Poly Styrene: I Am A Cliché director Paul Sng is forging the doc, which is being exec produced by Sarah Drummond and produced by Natasha Dack. The show is 14 Peaks: Nothing is Impossible producer Noah’s first non-sport global sales project...
