James A. Rubin

James A. Rubin is an actor, director, writer, cinematographer, and film composer. He was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX, and a Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi graduate with a bachelor's degree in film/media studies with a minor in theatre. His filmmaking career began in 2009 after joining the production company Concept One Productions LLC. During his time with the company, James filmed dozens of weddings and a few award-winning short films before Concept One dismantled in 2015.
While James' filmmaking career was blossoming, so was his career in music. He has scored several short films and web series including "Camera Test" (2011), "Silent Treatment" (2012), "And So, My Children" (2012), "Unremarkable Endeavors" (2013), "Alternative" (2013), and "Corpus Christi" (2023). In 2012, James won "Best Score" for "Silent Treatment" at the Corpus Christi Seven Day Film Festival.
Some of James' biggest achievements include work on "Bad Turn Worse" (2013), semi-finals and quarterfinals acknowledgment from Shore Scripts (2018), ScreenCraft TV Pilot Script Competition (2018), and Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards (2018) for his TV pilot script for "Checked Out" (2018).
