Don was educated in the aviation field where
he got an undergraduate degree and worked as an aerospace engineer and
aviation technician in both civilian and military assignments. He is a
licensed commercial pilot and a flight instructor, and he started his
film career making instructional and training videos in the aviation
field. He learned filmmaking and got advanced training at Montgomery
Access Television in Maryland where he is a Field Producer. He took
script writing, Photography and Videography in Northern Virginia
College, also Producing and Directing at distant learning film schools
and the Hollywood Film Institute. He has also completed distant
learning programs for visual and special effects.
'Forgotten Soldiers' is Producer/Director Donald A. Plata's first feature documentary film. His piloting skills were essential in doing aerial photography for 'Forgotten Soldiers.' Donald has traveled extensively and filmed in various locations in Asia, Europe, and North America.
