Are Nicholas Sparks adaptations a bit too hard-hitting for you? Did you quite fancy Josh Lucas in Sweet Home Alabama but find him too charismatic? Do you enjoy mansplaining, rictus grins and infomercials?
Boy oh boy, fans of the bland, do we have a movie for you!
Miranda Wells (Katie Holmes) is having a hard time. She has a leaky roof, a dead husband, a boring boyfriend and mild to moderate debt. Sometimes she cannot afford to order pizza and she definitely cannot buy her daughter a pony. Woe is her. Outside her southeastern Louisiana home, a storm is brewing and swirling in the gale are the winds of change.
Bray (Josh Lucas) is a man with many missions (and an ill-advised side parting); he needs to deliver a mysterious wax-sealed manilla envelope to Miranda and distill Rhonda Byrne’s bafflingly popular self-help tome The Secret into hints, glances and...

Here at HeyUGuys HQ we’re all about nostalgia, particularly during a time when the whole world seems to have stopped, and new films are being released sparingly. So needless to say it was a thing of joy to reminisce about one of the most formative films of our youth, and speak to Jerry O’Connell all about his time making Stand By Me – and what sort of effect it had on him both professionally and personally.
O’Connell was speaking to us via Zoom (of course) to promote his new film, The Secret: Dare to Dream, where he plays a somewhat antagonist character. He comments on his relationship with the source material and why the world needs a film like this at the moment, which spreads such unwavering positivity.
Watch the full interview with Jerry O’Connell (complete with pet cat) below:

Many people believe in the power of positive thinking.
I dare say it's in short supply in 2020, so it seems like a great time for the release of The Secret: Dare to Dream. It's a scripted story inspired by the bestselling self-help book, The Secret, by Rhonda Byrne.
To be honest, I don't know many people who ascribe to positive thinking and utilize the power of the universe to achieve their goals.
I've never read The Secret, either, and it sounds like complete hooey that if you're always focused on the negative, that's what you'll attain.
The good news is that everyone, including me, can find joy in a feel-good movie, and you don't need to be familiar with The Secret or ascribe to its philosophy to find some enjoyment with The Secret: Dare to Dream.

Arriving more than a decade too late in both its inspirational and foundational appeal, “The Secret: Dare to Dream,” a fictionalized adaptation of author Rhonda Byrne’s popular self-help book “The Secret,” traipses through familiar territory without enhancing anyone’s insight. This story, about a financially and emotionally taxed family learning to find light in the darkness and love in chance encounters, is a blundering attempt to hawk books while aping another famous author’s patented style. Littered with confounding clichés and hokey devices, director/co-writer Andy Tennant’s feature is the exact inverse of what a passionate romance should aspire to be, let alone one preaching the power of positivity.

Chances are you or someone you know has read the book that sparked a global phenomenon back in 2006: Rhonda Byrne's bestselling novel, The Secret. Based on the law of attraction and how positive thinking can transform your life (likely the inspiration behind all of those vision boards we create each year), the wildly popular book is now being turned into a film.
Starring Katie Holmes (Miranda Wells), Jerry O'Connell (Tucker), and Josh Lucas (Bray Johnson), The Secret: Dare to Dream tells the story of a struggling widow trying to raise her family who comes across a mysterious man who brings an important secret into their lives - changing everything. In Popsugar's exclusive clip above, Bray begins to reveal part of that secret, which includes this key life lesson: the more you think about something, the more you draw it to you. Watch the clip above before the film releases on demand on Friday,...

Before Vincent Price haunted houses, he chalked up plenty of experience as a Broadway star and a versatile character actor. This superb Joseph L. Mankiewicz gothic romance assigns him major leading man duty as a ‘dark and troubled’ soul — the kind that intimidates cowering leading ladies. With typical good humor, Price called it the first of his ‘dead wife’ movies!
