I’m not sure if this is an extended TV spot or what, though the official word is that it’s a “60-second sneak peek video” for Daniel Radcliffe’s upcoming “The Woman in Black”. Curious, because it’s a little bit more than 60-seconds. I’m just sayin’. Anyways, whatever you want to call it, it’s creepy as hell, as I’m sure the movie itself will be when it opens next year on February 3, 2012. Take a gander, won’t you? If you were watching something called the 2011 Spike Scream Awards, then you caught this minute-long exclusive TV spot for the Daniel Radcliffe supernatural drama “The Woman in Black”. I have to say, horror movies don’t scare me anymore. The least they can do is whip up some creative kills or at least drop some T&A. “The Woman in Black” doesn’t look like it has either of those things, and yet, there are some incredibly creepy moments here. I just hope they didn’t give away all of the film’s scares in this minute-long spot. Check it out, won’t you? A young lawyer travels to a remote village to organize a recently deceased client’s papers, where he discovers the ghost of a scorned woman set on vengeance. Whereas the previous teaser trailers were content to gradually introduce the supernatural elements of James Watkins’ “The Woman in Black”, this UK trailer goes for the throat and really piles it on. I would normally expect this kind of “more is more” approach in U.S. trailers (us Yanks being more impatient and all that), but the Brits usually go for the slow burn approach. I guess not so much in this case. Still, the movie looks like it has the makings of a nice little chiller because, frankly, I have yet to see a horror movie that had any decent scares in it that wasn’t telegraphed a mile ahead of time. Daniel Radcliffe continues his transformation from "Harry Potter" in the new haunting trailer for Hammer's upcoming horror, "The Woman in Black." Whilst inevitably hard to stop constantly associating Radcliffe with the boy wizard, his two latest career moves as leading men in a Broadway musical, and in this beautifully crafted suspense horror, seem like wise, well thought out choices. "The Woman in Black," based on the novel by Susan Hill also stars Ciarán Hind, Janet McTeer, David Burke, Shaun Dooley, Alisa Khazanova, Sidney Johnston, Alisa Khazanova, Sidney Johnston, Aoife Doherty, Alexia Osborne, Liz White and Alexia Osborne.
