Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig have tied the knot.
The duo, who are both directors and writers and recently worked on Wbd’s record-breaking Barbie movie together, were married in New York at City Hall, a rep for Gerwig confirmed to People.
Baumbach and Gerwig have been together for over a decade, meeting on the 2010 film Greenberg before they officially began dating in 2011. They were engaged in 2020, with Gerwig telling James Corden on The Late Late Show that they didn’t use the word fiance to describe themselves because “it makes it sound like there’s an imminent wedding.”
Earlier this year, the couple welcomed their second son and Baumbach’s third. The announcement of their second child’s arrival came four months after his birth, confirmed in an Elle U.K. profile on the Barbie and Little Women director. The Lady Bird helmer had announced she was pregnant for...

The winds of change with theatrical and streaming coming out of Covid were top of mind this morning at the TIFF panel for Dialogues: Production & Development which included TriStar President Nicole Brown, Knives Out franchise producer Ram Bergman and White Noise producer Uri Singer.
It was an interesting dais: All three are involved with adult-skewing awards bait titles this season. Brown, who has been a force about getting the Viola Davis starring, Gina Prince-Bythewood directed Braveheart-like movie The Woman King made, is an exec at a studio which is dedicated to theatrical. Bergman had a pre-pandemic theatrical sleeper hit in Knives Out (311M), sold the sequels to Netflix for 400M, while Singer transformed White Noise from an anticipated limited series into a Venice film festival premiere directed and adapted by Noah Baumbach.
“I call the pandemic the big earthquake in Hollywood,” said Brown, “There was always streaming, but it...

There are two clear themes that have emerged by now at this year’s Venice Film Festival: one is the concept of the lost soul and the other is the sometimes perilous consequence of letting big-name directors cut loose on their dream projects. At 92, Frederick Wiseman has earned the right to do whatever he wants, but anyone getting over-excited about the prospect of this, his fiction debut, ought to know that Un Couple a) isn’t strictly fiction at all, and b) is very much of a piece with his famously unhurried longform documentaries.
The lost soul in his Venice Competition film is Leo Tolstoy’s wife Sophia, played by French actress Nathalie Boutefeu reading a text assembled from various letters between her and her famous literary husband. Aside from Sophia’s hairstyle and dress, there aren’t really any clues to period,...
