Gasan Sallies comes from a family of filmmakers. He started his career in animation and visual effects along with screen writing. At the age of 19 He wrote and directed his first independent short film ''The Angels Dance'', which combined animation and Live action. He later went onto direct and write various short films and commercials, including the short 2D animated film "The Lost Soul" and "Consumed". He was also the head insert animator for the SABC documentary "Cancer of the Soul" and have attended a film symposium at the Telluride film festival held in Colorado after winning a writing competition through the NFVF where he attended Intermate Q&A sessions with well known international writers and directors such as Francis Ford Coppola - known for 'Apocolypse now'. The Dardennes Brothers - known for Rosetta ,Xavier Dolan - known for 'I killed my mother' Ken Burns, Guy Maddin and Kim Morgan. He currently works in the advertising industry along as the film Industry as a Writer / Director and Visual Effects artist.
