One second made all the difference during the nail-biting season finale of American Ninja Warrior season 15. With a record-breaking eight qualifying for Stage 4, history was made as the “Great Eight” made the arduous 75-foot rope climb of Mt. Midoriyama. In the end, Vance Walker conquered the tower in an incredible 26:75 seconds, just enough to pass veteran ninja Daniel Gil’s time of 27:99. The 18-year-old joins Isaac Caldiero and Drew Drechsel as the only finalists to ever be awarded the million-dollar prize. More than any amount of money or trophy, Walker takes pride in seeing others inspired by his story. “Walker Texas Ninja” was told at one point he would never walk without assistance, let alone play sports. He was diagnosed at 18 months old with a form of Cerebral Palsy called spastic diplegia in his legs, which required him to wear leg braces. Through sure will, determination, and a never-give-up attitude,...

You don’t need to have perfect vision that Arrow star Stephen Amell is one ripped dude. In order to sell the idea of him being some dark guardian of Star City, he needed to be. After all, like Batman, he is just a man against foes greater and more powerful than himself, so he needed a fit body to counter his adversaries.
In Season 1, they made a joking staple of Amell working that salmon ladder in his training montages. In many ways, the montages became a staple of the show, and so good did they do with it that when Ben Affleck got around to doing his own montage in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, they didn’t do it nearly as well as Arrow.

It looks like all Amell’s hard work is about to get put to good use.

Donning Knight’s armor over his tux — inspired by in-game weddings from AdventureQuest, natch — the geeky groom battled swordsmen (with real swords), ninjas (including American Ninja Warrior stars Drew Drechsel and Reko Rivera), and other thugs in order to prove his worth to his ladylove (who looks miserable, by the way). Iron Man and Batman show up for good measure, and WWE icon Jimmy Heart (in a suit with hearts all over it) closed the spectacle. We don’t get to see what came later, which included...
