Rory Culkin, starring in one of the most interesting and weird true stories of all time should be a slam dunk, and it almost is, except when I think about it, it is miles away. Mayhem was an extraordinary component of the Norwegian Black Metal scene of the 80s and early 90s. Suicide, murder, church burnings and huffing from a bag of dead stuff was the order of the day. Whenever I meet goths in real life, they are unfailingly the nicest people you would ever be lucky enough to meet. Here they are not quite so cuddly.

Killed in an attempt to rob a pawn shop, a robbery that ended in the death of shop owner (Veronica Cartwright), Jimmy wakes up to find himself in a dimly lit office face to face with prosecutor Balthazar (Lucian Charles Collier), who is tasked with trying Jimmy for his crimes. About to sign a confession of his crimes, Jimmy (Lew Temple) is interrupted by his defence attorney Cassiel (Scottie Thompson) – who announces she wants Jimmy to receive a full pardon…
So far so crime drama, Only it turns out that this office is any but an office. Instead it is limbo, the place between heaven and hell and Cassiel and Balthazar are actually battling for Jimmy’s soul. Cassiel’s task?...

"There is no way that this low life's getting into Heaven whilst I'm stuck here." Uncork'd Ent. has released an official trailer for an indie horror comedy called Limbo, the latest from indie filmmaker Mark Young. The high concept, low budget film is about a murderer who dies and finds himself on trial in Hell, caught between a bitter prosecutor and an inexperienced defense attorney. The entire setup is based around being in "limbo" with a colorful cast of characters. James Purefoy stars a Lucifer, with Lucian Charles Collier as Balthazar, plus Veronica Cartwright, Rebekah Kennedy, Scottie Thompson, Peter Jacobson, Lauryn Canny, Richard Riehle, and Lew Temple. This look that bad, but doesn't look that good either. Here's the first official trailer (+ new poster) for Mark Young's Limbo, direct from YouTube: A murderer named Jimmy (Lew Temple) finds himself on trial in Hell, caught between a bitter prosecutor and an inexperienced defense attorney.

I’d been eagerly awaiting Lords of Chaos after first hearing about the adaptation a good while ago. I was a big fan of the book when it was released and spent many years in my late teens and early twenties listening to the deepest and darkest of black metal. I was a fan, and to this day I still enjoy some of the black metal bands I listened to back in the day but lean towards those without the messages of racism and other isms and ignorant views for obvious reasons. I have never limited myself with the music I listen to. I listen to folk, rock, death and thrash, blues and even some country music.

Writer/Director Alex Taylor is about to see his first feature length production, Spaceship, which has been backed by the BFI, hits cinemas on May 19th. Taylor makes his transition from short films to embark on his hallucinogenic cinematic journey with an experimental unconventional coming of age story.
A story of teenage troubles, far from those Hollywood loves to portray but from those teenagers who are classed as outsiders in our modern society, ones that want to be unicorns and aliens and, to most, are just plain weird. Spaceship centers on Lucidia (Alexa Davies) as she fakes her own alien abduction, leaving her father to delve into her strange teenage world of neon dream-like visions.
We spoke with Alex Taylor at length to take us into his world of creating Spaceship, its musical connection and its triumphant reception at SXSW.
