Paramount+ is letting iCarly live more life and breathe more air — the revival has been renewed for a third season, set to premiere in 2023, TVLine has learned.
The show’s 10-episode second season wrapped on June 3 with a somewhat unexpected Carly/Freddie cliffhanger. After overhearing Freddie saying that Pearl will never know him as well as Carly does, Pearl accused the longtime besties of being in love with one another — and they didn’t exactly jump to deny it.

iCarly has returned to Paramount+ for its second season, and the revival’s first episode back wastes no time giving the fans exactly what they want. Well, some of the fans.
Friday’s premiere picks up shortly after the infamous Webicon disaster of 2021. Beau and Wes have joined forces to turn the internet against Carly, whom they’ve dubbed “the ice queen.” (Those poor boys, right? How dare she not like them back!) Carly films a live apology to her crybaby exes, but they manage to turn the whole situation back around once again. To prove that she won’t die a lonely ice queen,...

Carly and Freddie are becoming a thing, whether they like it or not. That’s but one takeaway from iCarly‘s Season 2 trailer, during which the longtime besties kiss to appease a group of overzealous fans. Including Freddie’s mom.
Premiering on Friday, April 8, the revival’s 10-episode second season finds the titular vlogger “refocusing her attention on her friends and family following her romantic complications, all while working to boost her revived web channel,” according to the Paramount+ release. “Spencer and Harper must also navigate new personal and career developments, while Freddie balances raising Millicent with a new app and a new girlfriend.

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, artists like “iCarly” showrunner Ali Schouten transitioned their creativity online to connect with other artists. For Schouten, her Zoom open mic, lovingly dubbed “Chikchella,” reminded her of the joyous, collaborative spirit of “iCarly,” inspiring her to pitch the reboot.
“People were really connecting with each other as artists online, and it was such a high point of the week when we were all isolated in quarantine,” Schouten told TheWrap. “We needed this type of show now more than ever.”
“iCarly” star Miranda Cosgrove, who leads the Paramount+ revival, was enthusiastic about Schouten’s idea, agreeing that the show could make a difference in viewers’ lives.
The Zoom group, created by Schouten’s friend, Autumn Chiklis (“The Shield”), started the weekend that Coachella was canceled and brought together Schouten and her boyfriend as they quarantined separately. Schouten would write creative essays while her boyfriend performed songs,...

On June 17, Miranda Cosgrove broke the internet with one line: “You gotta switch it up on a bitch.”
Even though she’s currently 28-years-old, Cosgrove is — to many fans — eternally a child. First rising to fame as Summer in “School of Rock” and Megan in “Drake & Josh,” Cosgrove is nearly inseparable from Carly Shay, the titular “iCarly” character she played from 2007 to 2012, and now again in 2021.
It is perhaps for this reason that when Cosgrove cursed in the “iCarly” revival series’ third episode, fans stormed social media in delightful surprise, writing such tweets as “Hearing Miranda Cosgrove say ‘bitch’ in this iCarly revival is giving me life” and “Carly Shay Just Said Bitch! I Repeat, Carly Shay Just Said Bitch.”
But what might shock “iCarly” fans more is that the line was originally written as, “You gotta keep up with these hoes,” before it was struck down by Standards & Practices.

iCarly's return has been extended.
Paramount+ has issued a renewal for Season 2 of the arrival, with production set to get underway this fall ahead of a 2022 premiere.
The new iteration picks up 10 years after the classic Nickelodeon show ended and follows original influencer Carly Shay and her friends navigating work, love, and family.
Miranda Cosgrove, Jerry Trainor, and Nathan Kress reprise their original roles as Carly Shay, Spencer Shay, and Freddie Benson, starring alongside newcomers Laci Mosley, who plays Carly’s roommate and best friend Harper, and Jaidyn Triplett, who plays Freddie’s social media-savvy stepdaughter Millicent.
Jeanette McCurdy distanced herself from the revival earlier this year when she admitted that she had quit acting and was focusing on writing and directing, but should the star want to return down the line, it seems possible.
New installments of iCarly Season 1 will continue to launch on Thursdays this summer, with the finale hitting the streamer Aug.

Paramount+ released the trailer for its “iCarly” revival Tuesday, giving fans a first look at what grownup Carly Shay’s (Miranda Cosgrove) life looks like and how she decides to restart her web series. Cosgrove says the absence of Carly’s Bff, Sam — played by Jennette McCurdy, who recently said she has quit acting, on the original series — will be addressed early on in the revival so fans aren’t left hanging with questions about what she’s up to and why she’s not here with Carly, Freddie (Nathan Kress) and Spencer (Jerry Trainor).

The first two seasons of Nickelodeon’s hit teen comedy “iCarly” are now available on Netflix — ahead of a revival of the show on ViacomCBS’ Paramount Plus.
The original “iCarly” ran from 2007-12 for six seasons and a total of 97 episodes on Nick. The series follows a group of best friends in Seattle creating a webcast — named after Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove) — while grappling with everyday problems and adventures. The show also starred Jerry Trainor (as Spencer Shay), Nathan Kress (as Fredie) and Jennette McCurdy (as Sam Puckett).
During its original run, the show broke ratings records for Nickelodeon. The cable network’s “iCarly” and “Victorious” served as the launching pad for crossover spinoff “Sam & Cat,” starring McCurdy and and Ariana Grande — predating her meteoric pop-music career. Netflix also currently is streaming “Sam & Cat” as well as seasons 1-3 of “Victorious.” All three of the shows were created by Dan Schneider.

It's been less than two months since the revival of iCarly was confirmed, and the project is moving full steam ahead at Paramount+.
Miranda Cosgrove took to social media earlier this week to show a picture of her and co-stars Jerry Trainor and Nathan Kress on the set of the revival, which is set to launch nine years after the original series ended.
The photo shows the cast on the set, confirming that, yes, the revival is definitely happening. Far too often, shows get announced and then sit in development hell for eons as behind-the-scenes things are sorted.
While Paramount+ has not confirmed a premiere date, it's highly likely to be in the second half of 2021.
The relaunched CBS All Access will want to get this on the air as quickly as possible to help drive up the subscriptions.
Jay Kogen and Ali Schouten are on board to develop the highly-anticipated project.
