The sarlacc, basically a huge, carnivorous pit in the desert with a spiky mouth and a beaked tongue, is one of the more memorable and pivotal characters in 1983’s Star Wars: Episode VI—Return Of The Jedi, and yet it has not inspired a great deal of merchandise or cosplay thus far. There’s not even a Funko bobblehead of the thing yet, and they’ve done bobbleheads of some really obscure, fleeting characters. When Family Guy did its Jedi parody back in 2011, the sarlacc was played by Meg. That’s how unglamorous this role is. What’s the problem here? Maybe what the sarlacc needs is a little more personality and pizzazz. A new mashup from the music and movie parody channel David Unger Music solves that problem neatly. In “Singing Sarlacc Pit,” the role is performed admirably by Audrey II, the all-singing, all-killing plant from Frank ...

It's a good thing George Lucas doesn't have the rights to Star Wars anymore...he might actually try to make this happen! David Unger is back with his whacky movie edits and has really outdone himself with this Return of the Jedi meets Little Shop of Horrors mash-up!
I'm kind of embarrassed by how much I enjoyed this. There's something about the scene where C-3Po appears as though he's screaming over the singing so that he can be heard... that really got to me!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrived on Digital HD last Friday and hits Blu-ray/DVD tomorrow, and Disney has kept the faucet open with a steady stream of clips and footage from the behind the scenes featurettes and making-of documentary that comes along with the film.
The latest official release involves a clip of Adam Driver and J.J. Abrams talking about the backstory of the villainous Kylo Ren, and then there's a really fun clip of John Boyega beatboxing, Daisy Ridley rapping, and the cast and crew dancing on set. Below that, there's a parody video from YouTuber David Unger that features Rey's flashback scene from the movie, but with Jar Jar Binks and footage from the prequels instead of the Knights of Ren and some of the other snippets we saw in the real movie.

Remember how funny the booby traps in Home Alone are? They're violent in a cartoonish way that makes Harry and Marv's injuries acceptable for general audiences. But when you consider the reality of the burns and bruises and falls and cuts and nails puncturing feet and Bb gun shots to the crotch and face, that's some serious pain inflicted on the "wet bandits" -- not that they don't deserve it. To help illustrate how these scenes should have looked, albeit with some exaggeration that makes it cartoonish in another way, David Unger Music (aka D.U.M.) has released a new music video for a song called "Get Back" that parodies the movie's most violent moments. "It seems like Kevin McAllister killed those burglars 10 times...
