The Australian Olympic Committee demanded Rio de Janeiro take action to increase security after a Paralympic athlete was robbed at gunpoint while training in the Olympic host city on Sunday. Paralympic sailor Liesl Tesch and team physiotherapist Sarah Ross were taking a bike ride in a park near their hotel early Sunday when they were stopped by two men, one of whom was carrying a gun, Reuters reports. Tesch, who won a gold medal in sailing at the 2012 London Paralympic Games, said the armed man pointed his gun at her legs and made a demand for money. "I think he said 'dinero.

Bruce Willis, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren return for another go-round at the spies, guns and intrigue thing as the Retired Extremely Dangerous crew. Also back from the original: Mary-Louise Parker as civilian Sarah Ross. As a follow-up to the 2010 surprise hit (which was itself based on the DC comic book), the sequel keeps the one-liners flowing and the Ocean's Thirteen vibe alive in an adventure that spans the globe. The plot concerns some device that threatens one of the world's biggest cities, but don't worry about it. Sibling screenwriters Jon and Erich Hoeber take their inspiration from the cheeky Roger Moore era of James Bond, so nothing's ever so dire that a funny quip by Mirren about weapons of mass...

Action franchises are always somewhat of a blessing and a curse, as typically when the sequel numbers increase, quality decreases. There’s only so many ways John McClane can defeat terrorists or Rambo can jump into battle before beating a cash cow to death. There are some franchises which become bigger and better though, because they understand that success is achieved through improvement – not repetition.
The Expendables understands this, making every cast this grand spectacle of action stars who we never could fathom being in the same film together, drawing crowds based on names. So how do you create a sequel to Red without becoming stale? By becoming the Senior Citizen Expendables and adding names like Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Byung-hun Lee to an already impressive cast. Red 2 is bigger, badder, funnier, and flashier – who says an old dog can’t learn new tricks?

Mary-Louise Parker is known for playing characters with a dry wit, but we had no idea she'd be exactly as deadpan and hilarious in person. We got to sit down one-on-one with the 48-year-old actress as she reprises her role of Sarah Ross in "Red 2," the sequel to 2010's retirees with ammunition flick that became a sleeper hit.
In the sequel, Sarah and Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) are going through a dry spell in their domesticated relationship but she's in for the ride of her life when Frank and the rest of the gang (including John Malkvich and Helen Mirren) have to save the world from a Cold War-era nuclear device.
Parker has had success in recent years with the TV show "Weeds" and will also take the female lead in this weekend's "R.I.P.D." She talked to us about stealing roles from younger women, returning to Broadway in "The Snow Geese,...

Never likely to turn down the chance for a franchise, Summit Entertainment was quick to capitalise on the solid success of Bruce Willis action comedy ensemble pic Red back in 2010. The sequel hits the Us in July and heads here in August, and the studio is already starting work on a third instalment.Veteran Red script writers Jon and Erich Hoeber (who have spun the characters from Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner’s slim original tome into the first two films already) are now signed on to start cracking out the third screenplay. It’s really more a case of wanting to be ready should the sequel prove as popular as the first. The second film finds Bruce back as retired black ops agent Frank Moses, trying to live a quieter life with girlfriend Sarah Ross (Mary-Louise Parker). But things are never that simple for Frank, and soon old pal...

Life doesn’t seem to be getting any easier for Bruce Willis’ Frank Moses in Red 2. Though he’s trying to be really, properly retired and enjoy domestic bliss with Sarah Ross (Mary-Louise Parker), he’s suddenly thrown back into an adventure involving a stolen bomb. Check out the new trailer, courtesy of Yahoo. After the first film made a decent return for Summit back in 2010, the sequel naturally returns all the surviving characters, including John Malkovich’s twitchy, paranoid Marvin Boggs and Helen Mirren’s ice cold former MI6 agent Victoria (who this time could be causing trouble for Frank, since she’s accepted a mission to take him out). The roster is boosted with Anthony Hopkins playing the criminally insane (but really rather jovial) genius who designed the big bomb in the first place and Byung-hun Lee as an assassin who is looking to track Frank down.

Bruce Willis is retired and extremely dangerous -- though the former status won't last for long. The superstar returns to the screen as retired black-ops agent Frank Moses in “Red 2,” the sequel to his 2010 action comedy. Joining him for the reunion are Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, and Mary-Louise Parker. The new trailer opens with Frank and lady love Sarah Ross (Parker) doing the most mundane of chores — shopping at Costco — when Malkovich's Marvin Boggins pops up. “You haven't killed anybody in months!” Marvin exclaims. Frank reluctantly un-retires to assemble a team to track down a missing nuclear device, but to find it they have to pry the info out of a wacko scientist (Anthony Hopkins). Meanwhile, Victoria (Mirren) and other enemy operatives are on Frank's tail, so he calls in extra help in the form of ex-flame (Catherine Zeta-Jones) who's still, well, jonesing for him! Sarah is not happy about it.

After a week of character posters, the new trailer for "Red 2" has arrived. This new look at the upcoming movie shows the series' retired CIA agents stuck in even more extreme circumstances than they were in 2010's "Red."
This time that means they need to team up with Anthony Hopkins' character Edward Bailey, a man who has been locked in an insane asylum for 32 years. Hopkins plays the slightly unhinged man hilariously, especially when he refuses to accept how old he actually is.
Another new addition to the franchise, Catherine Zeta-Jones, also looks like she'll be a scene-stealer. Based on what's seen here, she is Frank Moses' ex who's still got a torch for her old flame. Tensions seem to rise high enough for Mary-Louise Parker's Sarah Ross to admit, "I hate her so much." We have a feeling we'll love her.

The retired and extremely dangerous operatives of "Red 2" have a new date of attack: July 19.
Summit has shifted the follow-up to the 2010 action-comedy to the height of the summer movie season, away from its original slot on August 2. That puts Bruce Willis, John Malkovich and pals in direct competition with "R.I.P.D.," which, ironically enough, comes from original "Red" helmer Robert Schwentke.
Willis, Malkovich and several of the other all-stars from "Red" are back for the sequel: Helen Mirren once again returning as gun-toting Victoria and Mary-Louise Parker as Sarah Ross, trigger-happy girlfriend of Frank Moses (Willis). Also along for the ride are newcomers (a term we use loosely) Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta-Jones. The story deals with Moses and his companions taking their operation international, with mayhem planned for London, Paris and Moscow.

2010’s Red saw Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich and more having fun as retired agents dealing with a threat to their life. Check out the trailer over at Apple’s site. This time around, Willis’ Frank Moses learns that there’s another contract out on him; Interpol has declared him its most dangerous target and everyone is gunning for him, even Victoria (Mirren), though we’re pretty sure that’s a feint.Moses understandably decides to go on the run again, this time dragging girlfriend Sarah Ross (Mary-Louise Parker) with him from the start. He’ll need help from mad pal Marvin (Malkovich) and tangle with a few new problems, including Catherine Zeta-Jones’ sexy ex-girlfriend and Anthony Hopkins as a threat.Dean Parisot has taken over directing duties for this one, replacing the first film’s Robert Schwentke.
