There's no need to wonder about the future of the Krapopolis TV series for quite a while since it's already been renewed for a second and a third season. The show is produced in-house so it has an advantage over many of Fox's either animated shows. Still, if the ratings are low enough, could the series still be cancelled? Stay tuned.

It took a while but Krapopolis, Fox’s new animated series, performed well in its opening.
Fox said that the Sunday night premiere of the Dan Harmon-created series delivered a 1.2 Live+ Same Day rating among adults 18-49 and 3.6M total viewers.
The network said that this made it the most-watched animation series to debut over the past decade and Rick and Morty co-creator Harmon’s most-watched animated series telecast ever.
Krapopolis was helped by Fox airing it after a Sunday NFL game that not only saw the Kansas City Chiefs blow out the Chicago Bears, but a game that saw Taylor Swift make headlines for turning up to support her new friend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Fox added that it became the number one original comedy telecast of 2023, beating the debut of the Night Court reboot and the number one entertainment program among adults 18-49 for the week...

Dan Harmon’s new adult animated series “Krapopolis” finally debuts Sunday evening after years in the works at Fox. The Covid-19 pandemic prompted the show’s staff to shake up virtually every step of development and production, from a virtual writers’ room to a Zoom table read.
Just before the pandemic hit the U.S. in March 2020, Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn encouraged Harmon to dust off an old idea the “Community” creator had shared about a show set in ancient Greece, but had yet to explore.
“Dan had this idea to do a show in ancient Greece, and that was about it — that’s all we had,” executive producer Steve Levy told TheWrap. “Dan loved the world, and was a myth buff when he was a kid and really took to the stories. We were like, ‘sure, we could explore that world,’ [but] we really didn’t have anything.”

Dan Harmon’s brand of comedy — sometimes puerile, sometimes erudite, usually with both sensibilities engaged in a graphic on-screen wrestling match — isn’t for everybody.
Even the shows of his that I love the most — Community and Rick and Morty and The Sarah Silverman Program, the usual stuff — lose me here and there.
One thing I’ve never accused a Dan Harmon show of being was bland.
Krapopolis, a long-gestating Fox animated comedy notable for off-screen trivia — it’s already been renewed through a third season, plus it has some connection I don’t understand to the blockchain — is bland. Through the three episodes sent to critics, it looks bland and the stories it’s telling are bland and, most oddly of all, the thematic underpinnings of the series are bland.

It feels like we’ve been hearing about Krapopolis since the days of ancient Greece, doesn’t it? Fox first ordered the animated comedy from Dan Harmon more than three years ago, and after multiple delays, it’s now quite possibly the only TV show ever to have been renewed for three seasons before even airing a single episode. So now that it’s finally arrived, was it worth the wait? Actually, to my pleasant surprise, it was. Krapopolis — debuting this Sunday, Sept. 24 at 8/7c; I’ve seen the first three episodes — is a very worthy occupant of Fox’s vaunted Sunday night animation block,...

Krapopolis, the Dan Harmon-created animated series that was renewed for its third season before audiences saw a frame, is finally coming to Fox later this month.
It “feels like a moment” for the network, according to Fox’s President of Entertainment Michael Thorn, as it becomes one of the rare, new scripted originals launching on broadcast television this year.
But the launch also masks a major issue the broadcast networks face that the streamers and cable networks do not: if the writers and actors strikes don’t end soon, there will be very few new scripted hours of television on Fox as well as ABC, CBS and NBC this season.
“Beyond being incredibly passionate about [Krapopolis] and Dan Harmon’s vision, we’re invested, because we’ve already ordered a third cycle,” Thorn told Deadline. “On a show level, it’s fantastic. But on a corporate strategy level, it’s really symbolic for us.

Krapopolis has a new trailer — watch it above.
The Dan Harmon-created animated series will launch on Sunday, September 24, on Fox. It will launch with a special two-episode preview following the NFL doubleheader on the network.
Krapopolis then will become part of the network’s Animation Domination block from Sunday, October 1, where it will air at 8:30 p.m. after The Simpsons and before Bob’s Burgers and Family Guy.
This comes after the series scored a third-season renewal before a frame of the toon has been seen by the viewing public.
Fox previously shifted Krapopolis to the 2023-24 season, shaking up its plans to premiere the series in a four-episode, two-hour block in May.
Krapopolis has had a very long gestation period. Harmon signed a direct deal with the broadcast network in July 2020 with a series commitment. In February 2021, the then-untitled show was handed a formal series order, making it...

Aside from its regular “Fox Animation Domination” block on Sunday nights, Fox’s fall schedule is taking a more alternative approach this year as the WGA strike continues to remain an issue for Hollywood.

With the WGA currently picketing and a looming SAG-AFTRA strike already impacting San Diego Comic-Con with several film and TV companies, i.e. Marvel, Lucasfilm, Sony, Universal, Netflix skipping, Lord knows what a truncated and tamer Comic-Con is going to look like from July 19-23, especially after an explosive 2022 which repped the confab’s return to in-person after going dark for two years during Covid for 2020 and 2021. However, here’s a glimpse at the first 3-days. Some shows and movies have promised cast appearances, but that’s still Tbd given that the SAG-AFTRA contract expires on July 12, and actors aren’t permitted to promote their wares during a work stoppage. There are some big pieces of IP below, read the new Peacock John Wick spinoff series, The Continental and Paramount’s Seth Rogen produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, as well as Jamie Lee Curtis, Tj Miller and...

Updated: The network upfronts are once again front-and-center for the television industry as major players gather in New York May 15-17 for the springtime ritual of presenting programming plans for the upcoming TV season.
Upfronts are always a hectic time, but this year it’s even more so because of the writers strike that began May 2. Writers and many actors are sitting out the upfront presentations in solidarity with the Writers Guild of America. The promise of WGA pickets surrounding all major events spurred Netflix to make a hasty decision to switch to a virtual presentation rather than an in-person event at the company’s Paris Theater.
As content chiefs outline their plans for the 2022-2023 television season, here is a running list of new drama and comedy series orders handed out by ABC, Disney, CBS, Warner Bros. Discovery, NBC, Fox, the CW and other major players in the upfront.

Fox is betting big on its upcoming animated series Krapopolis.
The network and its Emmy-winning animation studio Bento Box Entertainment triple-down on the upcoming animated comedy Krapopolis with a third season renewal, well ahead of the show's planned series premiere.
The news broke this week at London Screenings by Michael Thorn, President, Scripted Programming, of Fox Entertainment.
From Emmy Award winner, creator, and executive producer Dan Harmon and produced by Fox's Bento Box Entertainment, Krapopolis will make its series premiere during the 2023-24 Season.
The series has been delayed in the past, but it sounds like the network wants to give it the best launch pad.
Thanks to early response, the series earned a season two renewal last October.
"The 2023-24 Season is the perfect launching pad for this highly-anticipated and very funny animated comedy, complete with multiple seasons of epic laughs for fans," said Thorn.
"The more we see from production,...

"Krapopolis", the new animated TV series from Emmy Award-winner Dan Harmon ("Community"), set in mythical Ancient Greece, following a flawed family of humans, gods and monsters, has been renewed for Season Two and Three before the premiere airs Spring 2023:
Voice cast includes Emmy Award winner Hannah Waddingham ("Ted Lasso"), Richard Ayoade ("The It Crowd"), Matt Berry ("What We Do in The Shadows"), Pam Murphy ("Mapleworth Murders") and Duncan Trussell ("The Midnight Gospel").
Ayoade voices "Tyrannis", the mortal son of a goddess. He's the benevolent 'King of Krapopolis' trying to make do in a city that lives up to its name. Waddingham plays "Deliria," Tyrannis' mother, goddess of self-destruction and questionable choices. Within her extended 'Olympian' family - forged in patricide and infidelity - she's known as the trashy one.
Berry is "Shlub," Tyrannis' father, a 'mantitaur'. He is oversexed and underemployed, claims to be an artist and has literally never paid for anything,...
