"State Zero" is a post-apocalyptic film from Sweden. The film was shown at Quiet Earth, yesterday and this film fan noticed it on his Youtube feed. Officially released in March of 2015, within Sweden, the short film shows a four man combat team, attempting to fix a transmitter and surveillance tower. However, clever "freaks" look to intervene. Fans of science fiction or Pa thrillers can view the entire film, here. From the official synopsis, Sweden has turned into a wasteland. Cities lay in ruin and scientists perform illicit experiments. Those who venture into urban areas must be prepared to face the horrifying results of those experiments. And, a journey into Zone 3 is a one-way trip, for most. State Zero is a seriously impressive 16-minute sci-fi/horror short from first-time director Andrée Wallin. Wallin also wrote the film and handled production design.
The film was produced by Claire Fleming and was shot in London with an international cast, while all exteriors were shot in Stockholm. The VFX is done by Bläck.

In celebration of the upcoming release of Oblivion on Blu-ray and DVD on August 6th, here is a new image of a post-apocalyptic 2017 San Diego Convention Center in ruins, created by Andree Wallin, the concept illustrator for Oblivion.

Disney has dropped the adaptation of "Oblivion," Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski's illustrated novel. According to Variety, Kosinski and Radical Publishing will shop the project to other studios and producers. "Oblivion" was being developed under the title Horizons. Disney had picked this up from Kosinski last August just after the book debuted at Comic-Con. The book is set in a future in which the Earth's surface has been severely irradiated. Survivors live above the clouds, safe from the alien Scavengers below. After a surface-drone repair man called Jak finds a mysterious woman in a pod which has crash-landed, the discovery sets of a chain of events, making him question all he knows.
