A24 gave their satirical slasher Bodies Bodies Bodies (you can read our 8/10 review at This Link) a wide theatrical release back in August, and now it has been announced that Bodies Bodies Bodies is heading to Blu-ray and DVD on October 18th – so it’s coming home just in time for Halloween. Copies are available for pre-order on Amazon.
A24 first purchased Kristen Roupenian’s Bodies Bodies Bodies spec script back in March of 2018. The script was said to show “heightened sensitivity to character development and social dynamics in a subversive way”, and was described as
a shrewd character study where mystery and deep-seated scares blended in such a way that the company saw an opportunity to make a horror movie that could also be culturally relevant.
The script got some touch-up work from Sarah DeLappe, Chloe Okuno, Joshua Sharp, and Aaron Jackson in the time between acquisition when it...

The SXSW Film Festival is returning to its in-person roots with a vengeance next month. After several years of going virtual due to the Covid-19 pandemic, SXSW will be the year’s first major festival and conference event to return its focus to live festivities when it launches from March 11 to March 20. And with Wednesday’s reveal of its full film line-up, what a significant return that will be.
Previously, SXSW already announced the intriguing Everything Everywhere All at Once will be the opening night film. That A24 release looks to combine the recently popular sci-fi concept of “multiverse theory” with martial arts genre tropes as it follows Michelle Yeoh into parallel dimension madness. Now with the full line-up, we also know the Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, and Daniel Radcliffe-starring The Lost City will also be making its world premiere at SXSW, as will the meta comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent,...

“The last two years have been complicated, and full of uncharted new waters for all of us. While there’s been innovation in building community in isolation and figuring out how to pivot, we’ve intensely missed being able to gather together,” said Janet Pierson, VP, Director of Film. “For our 29th edition of SXSW Film Festival, we are thrilled to share a bounty of creative work to experience together,...

Teenagers struggling with sexual identity, women fighting to reconcile their multi-faceted roles in society, and men grappling with the destructive constraints of masculinity are among the themes to be explored in the 2020 edition of the TorinoFilmLab’s FeatureLab, an intensive annual workshop focused on first and second feature film projects at advanced stages of development.
The 10 projects selected to participate include seven debut features, spanning the globe from the sweltering jungles of the Amazon to the sun-soaked islands of Greece, from the mountains of Montenegro to the shores of Australia.
“We are proud to present a very diverse selection,” said TorinoFilmLab curator Vincenzo Bugno. “Ten projects with an original artistic identity coming from very different parts of the world, all of them representing somehow the complexity of this planet (and) the state of things in a challenging political-cultural situation.”
