“I feel like it’s so fitting, weirdly enough,” says former “The Bachelor” star Colton Underwood while discussing his time as Lovebird on Fox’s “The Masked Singer.” “I get to return back to television, this time wearing a physical mask and have that safety blanket of performing without people knowing exactly who I am until I get eliminated. It’s such a freeing and lovely experience.” Watch his exclusive video interview with Gold Derby senior editor Denton Davidson above.

Mike Darnell has stepped down from his role as President of Unscripted Television at Warner Bros. after a decade at the studio, he announced in a statement Thursday.
“Letting yourself go is always difficult… I took a deep breath, called myself on Zoom and told myself it was time to leave,” he wrote. “I took it surprisingly well. Actually, Channing approached me a couple of months ago, and although I was given the opportunity to stay… it would have meant more changes for both my personal deal and to the general structure of the division.
Darnell added that “a couple of new ventures have come my way” during the discussions, but “even so, deciding to leave was difficult.”

Could an upset be brewing on Season 21 of “American Idol”? All year fans have been forecasting Iam Tongi would take home the top prize, but he may not be the sure bet we’ve assumed. This season closely resembles a similar lineup up finalists from Season 17 when 18-year old country crooner Laine Hardy took down fan favorite Alejandro Aranda, who, like Iam, had become a viral sensation since his first audition.
This time around it’s 18-year old Mississippi native Colin Stough who has progressively grown his fanbase each week, delivering honky-tonk renditions of some of music’s most popular tunes. Like Laine, he was barely a blip on viewers’ radar in early rounds, but as judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie have pointed out, his star continues to rise.

“American Idol” may be a platform for aspiring unknown singers to showcase their talent outside of their bedrooms, but some contestants may have an advantage over others: being born into famous families.
Season 21 has already shown several so-called “Nepo Babies” — contestants with ties to the entertainment business — competing for the crown, including Kaya Stewart, daughter of Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics (pictured).
“With all your different opportunities and connections and stuff, how did you even land on ‘American Idol?’” Judge Katy Perry asked before her audition.
It’s a fair question, but “nepo babies” competing on “American Idol” is nothing new. In the past, the offspring of parents with varying backgrounds from music, acting, sports, and politics have all found their way in front of the judges.

Hey, American Idol fans. Tonight's show kicked off with season 11 winner Phillip Phillips singing his song titled, "Home." Shortly after that, they showed Bobby Bones mentoring the singers on camera. Right after that, they revealed that Louis Knight was the first person to make it through to the top 10 from America's vote! Next, Louis sang,"In My Place" by Coldplay from home of course. Afterwards, Katy said, "Your version made me escape to a better time." Luke said, "I wasn’t completely blown away, but I liked your song choice." Lionel said, "Play the camera as much as you can."...

The evening began with an emotional performance of “Home” by Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips, an on-the-nose introduction to an episode about — wait for it — home! Throughout the episode, Ryan Seacrest revealed which singers made the cut, followed by those contestants’ performances...

Throughout the season, he seemed to do fairly well, but in the end, he just didn't quite hold up against the competition, and he was eliminated just...
