Do all the touchdown dances you want, but know that there’s at least person — aside from, uh, the San Francisco 49ers — for whom Super Bowl Sunday carries the acrid tang of dreams gone up in smoke.
On her Instagram Story Sunday night, Mandy Moore made a joke that referenced a pivotal episode of her NBC series This Is Us. The account Midwest vs. Everybody posted a photo of eight slow cookers, deeming the appliance “The real Mvp of Super Bowl Sunday.” Underneath, Moore — who played mama Rebecca on the show — added: “Not in the Pearson household.”

Reportedly, Sebastian Stan clocks in at 6 feet tall, comparable with 6-foot-2 Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, whom the actor plays in Pam & Tommy. Co-star Lily James hits 5-foot-7 in flats, which corresponds with Pamela Anderson. But, via extensive research, Pam & Tommy costume designer Kameron Lennox determined that Anderson’s documented height may be with her trademark 4-inch heels on.
In the Hulu limited series (nominated for an Emmy for outstanding contemporary costumes), James often wore Anderson-style high heels, such as for an incognito trip to the library to access the nascent internet, where her Christian Louboutin boots (a take on Uggs) brought James near Stan’s height. But, in the preceding scene, shot from the waist up, James actually stood flat-foot for a tension-filled conversation with Stan as the hotheaded Tommy. “It was so important that [Pam] felt smaller, like she’s vulnerable,...

The Pearsons may be gone, but they’re certainly not forgotten. A whopping 19 “This Is Us” cast members have been submitted by NBC on the 2022 Emmys ballot, including all of the core adult family members. That number includes three lead performers: Sterling K. Brown as Randall Pearson, Milo Ventimiglia as Jack Pearson and Mandy Moore as Rebecca Pearson. In years past, Justin Hartley as Kevin Pearson has also dabbled in lead, but for this final season he’s competing in supporting. One fan-fave guest star was not submitted on the Emmy ballot and thus cannot be nominated: 2017 winner Gerald McRaney, who returned in the penultimate episode as the ghost of lemonade-loving Dr. K.

Submissions for the fourth annual Critics Choice Real TV Awards will open Feb. 21, the Critics Choice Association and nonfiction producers organization Npact announced Friday.
First launched in 2019, the Real TV Awards were established as way of providing the growing nonfiction TV sphere critical attention and support. The awards celebrate programming across streaming and linear platforms, and honor industry leaders for their work in advancing unscripted television.
This year’s Real TV Awards ceremony will honor shows that premiered at least six episodes between June 1, 2021 and May 31, 2022. To be eligible, the show will have needed to be available to at least 50% of the total U.S. TV market. Submissions for nomination consideration will open Feb. 21 and close May 6, with the nominations announced May 25.
For the first time since the inaugural ceremony, the Real TV Awards will be held in person, after the Covid-19 pandemic caused the last two to be held virtually.

Through the years, “This Is Us” has welcomed countless big-name guest stars to its ever-growing family, with a whopping six being nominated at the Emmys: Ron Cephas Jones, Gerald McRaney, Brian Tyree Henry, Denis O’Hare, Michael Angarano and Phylicia Rashad. Jones and McRaney are the only two guest stars to take home trophies, but now Angarano is hoping to follow in their Emmy-winning footsteps.
Angarano first joined NBC’s family drama in 2018 as Nick Pearson, the estranged brother of Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia). In flashbacks we see Nick’s early life with Jack and their service in Vietnam, while in the present-day story he’s known as Uncle Nicky (Griffin Dunne) and lives a mostly solitary life in his trailer. In the most recent fifth season, Angarano returned in the “One Small Step” episode in which fans saw Nick fall in love for the first time with his co-worker Sally at the animal clinic.

We have very bad news, This Is Us Fanatics:
The series has been placed on another hiatus for NBC.
But we have some good news...
The network has revealed when fans can expect a fresh episode to hit the air.
This Is Us Season 5 Season 5 Episode 10 will see the light of day on Tuesday, March 16.
While it sucks having to wait for episodes for longer than usual, it's nice to know that the show is still able to be safely produced during the pandemic.
As for what this latest new episode will be about, NBC is offering up the following:
"Beth navigates qualms with her mother. Kevin and Kate bring their families together for dinner," it reads.
It's a short and sweet logline, but we're all for it if it puts Beth at the forefront.
Kevin and Kate bringing the family together might prove to be difficult because of the...

Fans of This Is Us will have to wait a little longer to find out what happened to Kevin.
The NBC series was scheduled to air a new episode earlier this week, but it was pulled due to production delays brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic.
"No new episode of #ThisIsUs tonight - Covid-related production delays in LA have forced us to delay a few weeks," series creator Dan Fogelman tweeted on Tuesday.
"But the next few are big ones, and we are close, so we hope you'll hang in there with us. Sorry!"
NBC later confirmed that new episodes would commence on Feb. 2.
The news is unfortunate, but it's a miracle that new episodes are still being produced when you consider the circumstances.
This Is Us Season 5 launched much later than usual due to the pandemic, which delayed production on the series for several months.

We have some bad news for fans of This Is Us.
The episode scheduled for tonight, (January 19) has been pulled off the schedule by NBC, with the network opting to air an encore of This Is Us Season 4 Episode 14, "The Cabin."
No reason was given for the last-minute switcheroo, but it could be production-related.
This Is Us Season 5 kicked off later than usual, and episodes have aired sporadically as the series continues to produce fresh installments throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
Still, the network has not revealed why the show is postponed, but there will probably be more small hiatuses as we head into the second half of the season.
More importantly, we don't have a return date, so it's possible this latest break could drag on for multiple weeks.
It's an unfortunate development, especially considering that This Is Us Season 5 Episode 6 was one of the best episodes of the series.

NBC — somewhat unexpectedly, in these trying times — looks to mine politics for laughs with Mr. Mayor, the newest sitcom from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt creators Tiny Fey and Robert Carlock.
The series, which will premiere two back-to-back episodes tonight at 8/7c, follows Neil Bremer (played by Ted Danson), a wealthy businessman who runs for mayor of Los Angeles “for all of the wrong reasons,” according to the show’s official description. After an unexpected win, he must now figure out what exactly he stands for while also earning the respect of his staff, connecting with his teenage daughter and embracing his...

Lauren Graham‘s planned multi-episode return to Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist in Season 2 has been cut dramatically short.
The Gilmore Girls vet — who appeared in Season 1 of NBC’s musical comedy as Jane Levy’s onscreen boss, Joan — announced on Twitter late Tuesday that she will exit the series following the Season 2 premiere. “Joan is only there for a wee moment,” Graham said of the opener, before revealing that “plans to do more [were] thwarted by pandemic-related scheduling issues.”

At the movies, January is the traditional dumping ground for box office bombs that the studios are eager to bury and forget. Unfortunately, NBC’s new sitcom Mr. Mayor — debuting this Thursday, Jan. 7 at 8/7c; I’ve seen the first two episodes — feels like the TV equivalent of that. It’s a real shame, because the combination of Ted Danson in a starring role and Tina Fey behind the scenes should be an easy slam dunk. But instead, the whole endeavor feels half-hearted and half-baked, with a thin concept and a glaring lack of laughs.

When viewers last checked in with Chicago Fire, Casey and Brett had finally taken their dynamic from a simmering “will they or won’t they?” vibe to a fiery “let’s get hot and heavy on the couch” make-out session. But before things could go too far, they were interrupted by the G-word: Gabby.
Hitting pause on the steamy action, Brett broke away to ask Casey an important question: If his ex-wife came back and asked him to leave with her, would he go? Unfortunately for the would-be couple, Casey didn’t really have an answer for Brett beyond “I don’t know.

“Dash & Lily” star Austin Abrams will reprise his role as teen Kate’s boyfriend, Marc, for an upcoming Season 5 episode of “This Is Us,” TheWrap has learned exclusively.
As fans will remember, Marc, a real jerk who dated Kate (played as a teen by Hannah Zeile and in the present day by Chrissy Metz) in the ’90s, was a recurring character in Season 4.
Marc was known for being controlling and belittling to Kate, even calling her fat. Their relationship ended when they ran off together to the Pearson family cabin and Marc became even more emotionally abusive, leading to Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and teen Kevin and Randall coming to Kate’s rescue.
The reason behind Abrams’ return to “This Is Us” is being kept under wraps.
“I definitely think that when you’re being verbally abused and put down and not supported properly, like in the episode when Marc calls her a ‘fat face,...

Exclusive: NBC’s This Is Us, broadcast TV’s highest-rated scripted series, is preparing to go back to production. I hear that the acclaimed drama is targeting Sept. 24 to begin shooting its upcoming fifth season. As is the case with any production during the pandemic, the date is tentative and subject to change. This Is Us studio 20th Television, part of Disney TV Studios, declined comment.
Two weeks ago, NBC announced that the Dan Fogelman-created family drama is slated to launch its fifth season on Nov. 11 with a two-hour premiere. The network noted at that time that all premiere dates had been set after detailed conversations with the series’ producers to make sure that having the shows ready by those dates would be realistic.

The Big Three are about to hit the big 4-0!
Given that there is a worldwide pandemic, the family is having to spend more time away from one another.
Boo! Hiss!
Thankfully, there are other options out there, and they are celebrating their joint birthday in style virtually.
Monday, August 31 is the big day, aka today, and NBC managed to get Chrissie Metz, Justin Hartley, Sterling K. Brown, and some of their co-stars together to celebrate the big event with fans.
Niles Fitch, Mackenzie Hancsicsak, Hannah Zeile, Parker Bates, and Logan Shroyer were also a part of the video.
“We turn 40 this year, which is extremely impressive, because we are TV characters,” Shroyer says in the video.
“My wish for The Big Three,” Hartley says adds, “is that, first of all, Kevin and Randall can somehow figure out their differences.”
And “I can’t wait to see my family,” adds Brown.

We’ve noted before how This Is Us‘ Kate is the Pearson sibling most in need of a win — and that held true in Tuesday’s episode, which found present-day Kate worrying that her marriage was going to end and flashback Kate experiencing emotional abuse at the hands of her first boyfriend.
“I always joke that I have super-healthy tear ducts at this point,” says Hannah Zeile, chuckling. Zeile plays Kate as a young adult, which means she’s the one charged with playing Kevin and Randall’s sister as she makes her way through the grief following Jack’s unforeseen death.

The live episode of “The Conners,” tied to the New Hampshire primary, notched a season-high among total viewers for the ABC sitcom on Tuesday, while the debut of “For Life” at 10 p.m. performed well enough to win its time slot.
The 0.7 rating/4 share among the key adults 18-49 demo for “For Life” could be considered a bit of disappointment — after all it did get a ton of promotion from ABC, especially during The Oscars on Sunday — but building on your lead in is nothing to thumb your nose at. “For Life” also drew 3.2 million total viewers. “The Conners,” which aired a live version of its episode in both the Eastern and Pacific time zones, posted a season-best 6.3 million viewers as well as gained in the demo with a 1.1 rating/6 share.
