David McCormick, one of two remaining Republican candidates for Senate in Pennsylvania, filed a lawsuit on Monday requesting that counties don’t discard absentee and mail-in ballots that lack handwritten dates. Mehmet Oz, the preferred candidate of former President Donald Trump, currently leads McCormick by fewer than 1,000 votes, and according to Maggie Haberman of The New York Times, the Republican National Committee and the Pennsylvania Republican Party are intervening to ensure these undated ballots are not counted.

Donald Trump prizes the power of his endorsement over just about anything, but the former president’s preferred candidates didn’t fare so well on Tuesday night.
Mehmet Oz is leading David McCormick in the Senate primary in Pennsylvania, but not by enough to avoid a recount. Madison Cawthorn, meanwhile, failed to defend his seat in North Carolina despite Trump asking voters to give him a “second chance.” But the biggest blow, at least in terms of margin of victory, came in Idaho, where far-right Lieutenant Governor Janice McGeachin failed...

One of the most highly publicized primaries of the 2022 campaign season looks like it might be headed for a recount.
Mehmet Oz leads David McCormick by barely 2,000 votes after Tuesday’s primary, putting the quack TV doctor who landed Trump’s endorsement early last month up by around 0.2 percentage points over the well-funded, establishment-backed businessman. The race heads to a recount if the margin winds up being smaller than 0.5 percentage points. The winner will take on John Fetterman, who demolished Rep. Conor Lamb in the the Democratic primary on Tuesday.

The power of television has apparently brought together former President Donald Trump and daytime talk show host Dr. Mehmet Oz, who is running for the Republican nomination in the Pennsylvania Senate election this November.
Trump made an endorsement of Oz in a statement before a rally in Selma, North Carolina on Saturday night. The endorsement is seen as a test of Trump’s grip on the Republican party, since Oz is not considered to be a conservative by some.
“This is all about winning elections in order to stop the radical left maniacs from destroying our country,” Trump said in his statement. “The great commonwealth of Pennsylvania has a tremendous opportunity to Save America by electing the brilliant and well-known Dr Mehmet Oz for the United States Senate.”
In his statement, Trump also said Oz was especially popular with women because of his work in daytime TV, and could do well in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

The Kansas Jayhawks won the NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship Game against North Carolina Tar Heels tonight, 72-69. The Jayhawks came back from 15 down at the half to win by 3. It was the biggest second-half comeback in the NCAA title game’s history.
Center David McCormick, who led the Jayhawks with 15 points, scored the go-ahead basket in the final minute.
The see-saw battle saw the Tar Heels outshoot the Jayhawks 43-31, but Kansas out-rebounded North Carolina 47-34.
The battle between the No. 1 Jayhawks and the No. 8 Tar Heels came down to the wire, with the lead changing multiple times in the last five minutes.
It’s the first National Championship for the Kansas Men’s Basketball squad since 2008 and the fifth consecutive tournament that has been won by a 1 seed.
The game was broadcast on TBS and the network’s Charles Barkley, a notoriously bad prognosticator, got this one right.

Exclusive: In a competitive situation, Warner Bros. TV has acquired the rights to Amy Chozick’s bestselling memoir Chasing Hillary: Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns and One Intact Glass Ceiling, to develop as a television series.
For a decade, award-winning New York Times journalist Amy Chozick chronicled Hillary Clinton’s pursuit of the presidency, starting with her imploding 2008 campaign against then-rising Democratic challenger Barack Obama. Chozick was assigned to “The Hillary Beat” ahead of the 2016 Presidential election. The book provides a candid and rollicking first-hand account of the Clinton campaign’s unraveling and her surprising loss to Donald Trump. It was an instant best-seller when it was released by HarperCollins on April 24. International editions have since been released worldwide.
The New York Times review likened Chasing Hillary to The Devil Wears Prada meets Boys on the Bus, and New York Magazine called it “a kind of Bridget Jones’s Diary meets What It Takes,...
