- Enzo Bettiza was born on June 7, 1927 in Split, Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes [now Split, Croatia]. He was a writer, known for Lenin: The Train (1988) and Lucio Piccolo/Mondo Lirico (2008). He died on July 26, 2017 in Rome, Lazio, Italy.
- In 1974, together with Indro Montanelli, Mario Cervi and other journalists, founded the newspaper "il Giornale nuovo" (subsequently renamed "il Giornale"), for which he was co-editor until 1983.
