Arthur Bisguier was born on 8 October 1929 in Bronx, New York City, New York, USA. He was married to Carol Collins. He died on 5 April 2017 in Framingham, Massachusetts, USA.
Mostly self-taught chess grandmaster. He won the New York High School Championship while he was in junior high school and won the US Junior Championship in 1948 when he was not yet 20. Won the US Chess Open in 1950 (the first of five times he either won it or tied). In 1954 he won the US Chess Championship. He played chess legend Bobby Fischer 15 times, winning only twice.
