Another film released under another generic title that will please another supermarket buyer, The Asylum first debuted on the Us film festival circuit – under its original title of Seventy-Nine – way back in 2013; and yet still remains unreleased on any physical format in the Us. Now the film makes it UK DVD debut with little fanfare from Lightning Pictures (aka Point Blank), whose last release, Leatherface, will be more renown for trying to con UK audiences rather than for being a good slasher movie. Surprise, surprise we’ve already had a film called The Asylum released on DVD here, back in 2015, from director Marcus Nispel; who directed The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in 2003 – and Leatherface is actually the title of the...

Magic Elevator has acquired DVD, cable and VOD rights to psychological horror film Seventy-Nine for November 2013 release.
The film will first be available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble, followed by other platforms. Check out the full details and trailer below.
From The Press Release:
Logline: In an abandoned mental hospital, a series of secret government experiments are being conducted on a new type of brainwashing – a project code-named ‘Limes’. ‘Limes’ is an ancient term describing a borderline between the civilized and barbaric world.
The movie was produced by Berenika Bailey and Jeff Solema.
Says Berenika Bailey: "We chose "Seventy-Nine" to produce from the hundreds of scripts we receive every month at Magic Elevator Productions because it had a philosophical edge to it. It's a smart, psychological type of horror, not the usual slasher film. The film is about new methods of brainwashing, seven tunnels of reality,...

Abandoned hospitals. Much like haunted houses, they are one of the most used settings for a horror movie, and with good reason... they're pretty friggin' creepy. Although I have to say that I wish someone would use a location other than Linda Vista. We've seen that place way too much!
Directed by Filip Maciejewicz for Magic Elevator Productions, Seventy-Nine stars Jonathan Rosenthal, Adrian Voo, Bo Linton, Christine Springett, Athena Baumeister, Velta Moore, Patrick Edward Wynne, Omar Hansen and Caroline Attwood.
Synopsis
In an abandoned mental hospital a series of secret goverment experiments are being conducted on the new face of brainwashing – a project codenamed ‘Limes’.

First Trailer for 100 Bloody Acres: “In 100 Bloody Acres, brothers Reg and Lindsay Morgan are struggling to keep their organic blood and bone fertilizer business in motion. Their secret “recipe” for success (using dead car crash victims in their product) was a huge boon to business, but lately supply has been gravely low. Months have passed since their last find, and an important new customer is now waiting on a delivery. When junior partner Reg (Damon Herriman of Justified) stumbles upon 3 travelers stranded on a remote country road, he cooks up a radical solution to their problem, and a way of finally gaining the respect of his bossy big...

We’ve had the pleasure of covering Peter Dukes’ work before with the two shorts A Goblin’s Tale and The Beast. You can check out those reviews here, but you’re here for the reaping. So take out those earbuds and check out this film.

It’s no secret that we here at Dread Central are stalwart supporters of indie filmmakers so it’s a pleasure to bring you a first look at Peter Dukes’ engaging horror-comedy short Little Reaper as well as some exclusive stills, a poster, and word on his next project.
Written, directed and produced by Dukes, the film, a project by Dream Seekers Productions, stars Athena Baumeister in the titular role as the Grim Reaper’s (actor John Paul Ouvrier) teenage daughter, who when tasked with handling her patriarch’s daily duties, comes up rather short and with some rather amusing results. Actors John Michael Herndon, Katharine Stapleton, Allisyn Ashley Arm (of Disney channel fame), Katy Townsend and Sorsha Morava round out the cast.
“Death is a common theme in my work,” said Dukes of Little Reaper, which he funded with additional financing from Little Reaper executive producer Danny Derakhshan and associate producers Melissa Cottingham,...

Dukes helms under his company Dream Seekers Productions with Colin Mehigan, Shane Mehigan and Melissa S. Cottingham on board as associate producers.
