Artist Josh Burns has created a couple of incredibly cool illustrations featuring two popular DC Comics femme fatales: Poison Ivy and Catwoman. I previously posted some of Burns' art for Voltron and Silverhawks, which you can check out here and here. As you can see, the guy has a beautiful art style, and I love what he’s done with these two DC characters.

If you grew up in the 1980s, then it was your privilege to bask in the glory of cartoon awesomeness. One of my favorite cartoons and toylines was Silverhawks. This is one of those properties that I’m surprised hasn’t been adapted into a movie yet because I think it could be awesome, and I've got some awesome fan art here for you to check out created by Josh Burns. Warner Bros. currently holds the rights to the property, and I’ve already shared my thoughts on this saying:
The SilverHawks team is recruited by a bionic police man named Commander Stargazer, and tasked with fighting the villainous Mon’Star, who is an escaped alien mob boss that transforms into an enormous armor-plated creature. This would make for a visually stunning film, especially with the setting and characters that are partly metal and partly human. This kind of film...

Artist Josh Burns created this cool series of Voltron character art. The goal of the artist was to paint the Voltron pilots in a more realistic style than the cartoons. It’s interesting seeing the characters reimagined in this style. They definitely have a bit more personality than the cartoon versions of the characters. The characters you see here include Princess Allura, Commander Keith, Lance, Pidge, Sven, Hunk, King Zarkon, and Queen Merla. Maybe one day we’ll actually see this cartoon adapted into a feature film.

Last weekend, the Mma world was shocked once again as Ben Rothwell knocked one-time title hopefull Alistair Overeem out, the third time it has happened in the Ufc. The knockout put an exclamation point on the failure that has been The Reem’s run in the Ufc thus far, as he has also been knocked out by Travis Browne and Antonio Silva. As well that night, Derrick Lewis had his hype train derailed at the hands of a Meathead (Matt Mitrione), in another brutal Tko. Bellator also featured heavyweight action last week, with Cheick Kongo submitting Lavar Johnson, and Bobby Lashley making a successful debut with a submission victory over Josh Burns.
At Ufc Fight Night 51 this weekend, Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski meets Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in a rematch of their 2010 fight under the Strikeforce banner. It’s the first bout of several...

Bellator
Bellator’s season opener went down tonight, and Bellator 123 offered up the best Bellator reasonably had to offer for the start of their year.
There were some key bouts on the card, not the least of which was Put Curran putting his featherweight title on the line against Patricio Pitbull. On top of that there was the Bellator debut of former Strikeforce fighter, and current Tna champion Bobby Lashley – best known from his days in the WWE, where he once helped shave Vince McMahon bald. How Lashley fares in his first few Bellator fights will likely dictate the course his career goes – a solid run in Mma, or back to the world of professional wrestling.
Outside of that fight, there was a heavyweight showdown between Cheick Kongo and fellow former Ufc fighter Lavar “Big” Johnson, and the return of Muhammed Lawal, otherwise known as King Mo, taking on Dustin Jacoby.

Word is coming in that Bobby Lashley’s Tna World Heavyweight Championship reign may be in jeopardy. It seems that the company is currently entertaining the idea to have Lashley drop the title in less than two weeks’ time at the Impact television tapings in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. However, Tna has yet to make a decision at this point.
The company and its higher-ups are waiting to see what goes down tomorrow night on Spike TV. Bellator Mma will be holding its live Bellator 123 card on the Network on Friday, September 4th. Lashley is set to compete in a Heavyweight Feature Fight against Josh Burns. The Tna World Champ’s current Mma record is 10-2-0, while Burns’ is 8-7-0. So, it would seem the odds are in Lashley’s favor, however, anything can happen in the world of professional fighting.
As such, Tna’s current plan is...

Current Tna World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Lashley is returning to the cage!
Bobby Lashley, one-time WWE superstar and current Tna World Heavyweight Champion (where he wrestles under just his last name, Lashley), has signed on with Bellator Mma, now headed by Lashley’s old Strikeforce boss Scott Coker, and will make his promotional debut this September 5th Connecticut.
Once linked to the Wsof, Lashley never appeared for that organization, and fought most recently in independent promotions Xfn (winning their heavyweight title) and Gwc. Lashley is also a Shark Fights champion. Since joining Tna Wrestling on Spike, speculation has been rampant that Lashley would also join Bellator and work under both promotions, just as fellow fighters King Mo and Rampage Jackson have done (though neither have been used much at all by Tna).
Though his career in Mma has failed to reach the level of success that Brock Lesnar...

Here's a great set of Voltron fan art created by artist Josh Burns. They give us a more realistic look at the heroes and villains from the classic 1980s animated series. This was one of my favorite shows growing up, and when someone finally ends up making the movie, I hope it turns out as awesome as it should be. The illustrations of Princess Allura above and Pidge below are by far the best ones out of the set.
