Top Chef season 14 came to an end Thursday night in its typical nail-biting fashion, with returning chefs Brooke Williamson and Shirley Chung both serving up epic meals in their final challenge (and us stress-eating the whole way through).
At the end of their four-course feasts, Williamson walked away with the coveted title—after getting eliminated earlier in the season, coming back through Last Chance Kitchen, and fighting her way back to the top. So when she chatted with People Food about her comeback win, there was a lot of ground to cover!

Top Chef‘s Sam Talbot isn’t exactly a homebody: His comfort-food hotspot Pretty Southern opened in Brooklyn in January, so he’s not spending a ton of time at his apartment, just a mile from the restaurant.
“I’m basically in the kitchen from 8:30 a.m. til at least midnight every night,” he tells People in this week’s issue. But he still cares about making the cozy one-bedroom feel like home.
“The vibe and the brightness in the apartment, it comes from my upbringing,” says Talbot, who decked out the space with “calming” succulents and lush plants.

If you’ve been following along with season 14 of Top Chef, you’ve seen the high-intesenity fights (we’re looking at you John Tesar and Katsuji Tanabe) and challenges that are more stressful than ever (like staying up for 24 hours to roast a pig!). But throughout it all there was one constant that was always there to mellow us out (and give us a laugh), chef Sheldon Simeon.

With the competition down to Brooke Williamson and Kristen Kish, one thing is clear going in to the finale of "Top Chef: Seattle." Season 10 would produce the second female winner in "Top Chef" history. The first female "Top Chef" was Stephanie Izard in Season 4. "It's about time," Izard tells host Padma Lakshmi, as the competition gets underway.
Brooke, who goes in to the finale with the most challenge wins for Season 10 is Co-Executive Chef and Co-Owner of Hudson House and The Tripel in the Los Angeles area. She faces Kristen, who was eliminated from the competition by way of a shocking turn of events in Episode 11.
But the Chef de Cuisine at Barbara Lynch's Stir in Boston spent weeks fighting her way back in to the competition by winning round after round of "Last Chance Kitchen," the web spin-off series which pits the eliminated chefs against one another.

Throughout Top Chef Seattle, no one made a more endearing impression than Sheldon Simeon, a Hawaiian Care Bear who spoke in a soothing Pidgin English and cooked beautiful and complex food with heavy Asian influences. In last night's episode, Sheldon and Brooke Williamson were reunited with Kristen Kish, winner of companion web series Last Chance Kitchen. After watching the season along with the rest of us, Simeon decided that his cooking lacked range, and so he went out of his comfort zone for the challenge, taped last week at the L.A. outpost of Tom Colicchio's Craft. His very un-Sheldony spot prawns, quail

Spoiler Alert: Don’t keep reading unless you want to know who was eliminated from Top Chef last night.
Like the great Carla Hall seasons before him, chef Sheldon Simeon tripped up heading into the Top Chef finale by straying outside of his culinary comfort zone with a trio of dishes including spot prawns, quail, and white chocolate mousse — to the judges’ confusion and displeasure. EW checked in with Sheldon about his road to the “technically top three” and what he really thought of his three-course meal. (Those prawns looked good!)

It's Valentine's Day, but, sadly, it's not Joshua Valentine's day. The earnest Oklahoman who "walks like a chef," as guest judge Curtis Stone once observed, went home on last night's episode of Top Chef Seattle after he presented the judges with a plate of foie gras served three-ways -- torchon, pan-seared and profiterol. Unfortunately, his torchon did not set properly, a fatal mistake. Brooke Williamson and Sheldon Simeon therefore advance to the finals. The Hollywood Reporter spoke with Valentine on Thursday about his new baby (now six months old), his job as a pastry chef and the 35 pounds he's

'Top Chef Seattle' recap: C.J. Jacobson packs his knives again with Tyler Wiard in double elmination
"Top Chef Seattle" is back with another surprise double elimination -- and this time, no winner.
As the episode opens, we find out it's Stefan Richter's birthday, and he's worried this is the day he'll be kicked off. "When I was competing in New York," he says, "everybody got kicked off on their birthday, and I was like 'birthday curse' -- f**k, no. I don't want to go home on my fortieth birthday."
Forewarning? Hmm ... turns out, not so much.
Quick-Fire Challenge
The cheftestants meet Padma Lakshmi and guest judge, Seattle chef Daisley Gordon at Pike's Place Market. The chefs are told to divide into teams of two, and as usual, some are less than pleased with the chef they've been stuck with. They're told their challenge is to make break fast to go ... on a stick, for 50 of the market's workers. They're given one hour to set...
