Meghan McCain will not take a little time to enjoy The View anytime soon as she says she will not return to the daytime talk show.
McCain is shutting down the possibility of returning to the ABC program and says she doesn’t talk to any of the current co-hosts on-air.
“There’s not a chance in hell,” McCain told Page Six of producers ever asking her to return, even as a guest.
The political commentator also acknowledged that she doesn’t want to do it either, adding, “I’ve had kids since then. I really like my life right now and I feel like it’s taken me a long time to sort of get to a place where people are seeing me as more serious.”

The View’s Tuesday broadcast was one co-host short of a full panel.
At the top of the hour, just Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin sat at the show’s Hot Topics table, with Sara Haines clearly M.I.A. (She did, however, appear on Monday’s installment.) So why was Haines absent from the show? Goldberg answered that question at the top of the second segment.

Nearly two years since her daytime talk show exit, Abby Huntsman is sharing her point of view. The former View co-host, who sat at the table for two seasons before her departure in January 2020, confirmed it was an allegedly "toxic" environment at the longtime ABC show that spurred her to leave. During the premiere episode of her and Lauren Leeds' podcast, I Wish Somebody Told Me, Huntsman recalled being asked to go see a talent coach after a few weeks into her new hosting gig. She said she was told all of the new hosts see a talent coach, but eventually Page Six reported on the fact that she had seen one. "I knew right in that moment when I saw that article it...

When Abby Huntsman, who was one of The View‘s conservative co-hosts along with Meghan McCain during her relatively brief 2018-20 tenure, announced her departure from the oftentimes controversial ABC daytime talk show, the former Fox News personality said it was because she wanted to join and assist the Utah gubernatorial race of her father Jon Huntsman.
Rumors quickly spread on social media that the real reason Huntsman was leaving the show was its much-discussed “toxic” workplace environment, a reason Huntsman now confirms as true.
In her new podcast called I Wish Somebody Told Me with friend, comedy writer and media producer Lauren Leeds, debuting today, Huntsman says she had decided to leave The View because the show’s workplace environment “did not reflect my values” and was “rewarding people for bad behavior.”

Whoopi Goldberg will remain with “The View” for at least four more years, TheWrap has learned.
The daytime series’ longtime host has signed a new four-year contract that will take her through its 28th season and the summer of 2025, according to an individual with knowledge of the deal. Financial details of the new contract are not known.
ABC declined to comment.
Goldberg just began her 15th season earlier this month. Her new contract comes as the ABC show has had numerous shuffles in front of the camera over the past few years. Meghan McCain was the most recent co-host to depart the show, which she did in August after four seasons. Sara Haines is in her second season after returning to “The View” last September to replace Abby Huntsman.
“The View” is currently filling McCain’s slot with a rotating cast of guest conservative co-hosts, which began with former Utah Congresswoman Mia Love.

Huntsman left The View in January 2020 amid swirling rumors of bad blood with Meghan McCain and the other cohosts.

Sara Haines has been confirmed to return to ABC’s The View as a permanent co-host as the show returns next week for its 24th season, when a focus of the show will be on the final months of the 2020 presidential campaign.
Haines was previously on The View from 2016 to 2018, and departed to join the network’s GMA 3: Strahan, Sara and Keke. After the show was canceled earlier this year, Haines has filled in from time to time following the departure of Abby Huntsman.
In an interview, senior executive producer Hilary Estey McLoughlin said that Haines “is great in either place, which is rare to have somebody who is able to deal with such complex topics that we talk about on The View, and give a perspective that is smart. She brings a lot of zest to the conversation, in addition to being very relatable at the same time.

Sara Haines, a former co-host of ABC’s The View, soon could be former no more. Sources say that Haines is in talks to return to the daytime talk show, where she’d take the seat left vacant by Abby Huntsman.

“General Hospital” garnered a total of 23 nominations, followed closely by the other major TV soaps: NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” (22), CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” (21) and CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” (13). Meghan McCain has given her side of the story on what happened with former The View co-host Abby Huntsman, confirming for the first time that rumors of a feud were not wrong.
Speaking on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Wednesday, McCain said she battled behind the scenes with Huntsman, but has since made up with her. .
Huntsman claimed earlier in January that she was leaving The View to join her father’s Utah gubernatorial campaign. But insiders suggested battles with McCain and drama with others on the show played a larger part in her departure.
“Abby and I have been friends for over 10 years,” McCain said Wednesday. “Our parents were friends in politics, we worked at Fox together. Part of the reason she came to The View is because we were friends. We are still very good friends. We are very close. I just talked to her yesterday morning.

During a chat with Andy Cohen on Wednesday’s “Watch What Happens Live,” Meghan McCain criticized media coverage of inter-host drama on “The View,” and called Whoopi Goldberg her “anchor” at the show.
“It’s really cruel,” she said of the way she sees the media handling her “very small fight” with former co-host Abby Huntsman, who stepped down from the show a few weeks ago. McCain insisted the two are very good friends to this day and that she found it “bizarre” to see a single fight, which she admitted did happen, blown up publicly and “weaponized” by the media.
McCain also downplayed the fight with Huntsman, a fellow conservative, and the reports that she was going to leave the show before Huntsman did. McCain assured Cohen if she had plans to leave the ABC show, she wouldn’t be cryptic about it, so Cohen moved on to the...

Abby Huntsman departed “The View” on Friday, using her farewell to address rumors that she and co-host Meghan McCain had a “soured relationship.”
On Monday — the day Huntsman announced she was leaving to work on her father’s gubernatorial campaign — CNN Business reported that a “toxic work environment” at the ABC talk show was one of the main reasons for her exit.
“Abby was sick of being berated by Meghan for perceived slights,” a show source told CNN. “She ultimately decided she didn’t need this job and it wasn’t worth it.”
In a statement to Insider, McCain derided the CNN report as “sexist.” “I find it hard to believe that CNN would cover a story about men this way,” McCain wrote. “Abby has been my friend for years and will always be my friend. I love her and her family very much.”

Abby Huntsman praised her colleagues on The View and made mention of the rumors of acrimony on the set, all during her sendoff from the show on Friday as she leaves to help run her father Jon Huntsman’s gubernatorial campaign in Utah.
“People go nuts with rumors on this show, and this week has been no exception,” Huntsman said to her View co-hosts. “I just want to be as clear as I possibly can. This has been a dream come true. This has been an incredible job. And I do love everyone at this table.”
Huntsman announced her departure earlier this week, and that was followed by reports that the turbulent environment of the show was a factor in her decision to leave. Citing unnamed sources, CNN reported on a dispute between her and fellow co-host Meghan McCain as well as Huntsman’s concerns about a “toxic environment.”

Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie make for a powerful trio on-screen. With their latest film “Bombshell,” the award-winning actors recognize the potential for the film to make real social change off-screen.
“The response to the film has been incredible. I was hoping that it would be impactful in that way,” Robbie told Variety at the film’s Los Angeles premiere. “I really wasn’t expecting it to hit home so closely with a lot of men, which has been amazing, really amazing.”
“Bombshell” brings to life the ripped-from-the-headlines tale of how former Fox News anchors Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson (Kidman) took on former Fox News head Roger Ailes and the toxic atmosphere he’d created at the network.
“We’ve spoken about it a lot because sexual harassment isn’t an issue for women to solve. It’s something we all have to solve together,” Robbie continued.

The 5,000th episode of ABC’s The View was the show’s most-watched telecast (3.021 million) in more than six months (since April 26). And something tells me it wasn’t because of the anniversary cake.
The Nov. 7 episode featured guests Donald Trump Jr. and his girlfriend, former Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle, for nearly the entire episode. The Hot Topics were as hot as the ratings.
With even the conservative co-hosts Meghan McCain and Abby Huntsman having their own bones to pick with Jr., the episode — promoted all week — was bound to be a scorcher. Show moderator Whoopi Goldberg wouldn’t utter his name, co-host Sunny Hostin called out lies, and Huntsman compared Trump tactics to dictators.
Jr. was clearly hunting for bear (no leopards being around) and had some nasty put-downs at the ready for Goldberg (the Polanski thing) and Joy Behar.
The showdown went viral, and now it seems even old-school viewers were watching en masse.

Updated throughout, videos added Whoopi Goldberg wouldn’t say his name, Sunny Hostin said he was lying, Abby Huntsman accused him of using “dictator” tactics. And Donald Trump Jr. gave it back, accusing Joy Behar of once wearing blackface (she didn’t) and resurrected Goldberg’s defense of Roman Polanski as not committing “rape rape,” all in a 48-minute, high-decibel, cross-talking segment of possibly the most heated episode of The View since Rosie took on Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

The View moderator Whoopi Goldberg and co-hosts Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Meghan McCain and Abby Huntsman were back at the Hot Topics table today, putting an end to summer-long speculation that one or another of the women would be taking a hike.
McCain, in particular, had been the subject of the will-she-or-won’t-she rumors, especially after she revealed in July that she’d secretly suffered a miscarriage last season. In a New York Times op-ed piece, the daughter of John McCain wrote that confirmation of the miscarriage came “at the worst possible time,” just before the show’s photo shoot.
“I look back at those pictures now, and I see a woman hiding her shock and sorrow,” McCain wrote. “I am posed for the camera, looking stern and strong, representing my fellow conservative women across the country. But inside, I am dying. Inside, my baby is dying.”
