Dr. J. Anthony D'Marmol was born in the Cuban city of Pinar del Rio.
Descended from a line of patriots, the fire burned no less intently
within his young frame, and when the Revolution overthrew Batista's
regime, he joined it at the age of twelve. Fidel Castro made him the
Commander-in-Chief of the Juvenile Commandos of the Rebel Army and
brought him in to his inner circle. Within a year, D'Marmol had become
disenchanted with the direction the Revolution was taking. Determined
to leave the island before it became too difficult, he unburdened
himself to one of his uncles. He discovered that his uncle had been a
spy since World War II, and was recruited to spy on the Castro regime
for the West. Until his cover was blown in 1971, he removed secrets
from Castro's very office undetected and transmitted them where ever
the information was needed through contacts at the US Naval Reservation
at Guantanamo Bay. After fleeing the island with the G-2 hot on his
trail, he was ultimately relocated to California, where he continued
his fight for freedom-only now his fight was for all the people of the
world, not just the Cubans. He has survived 56 attempts on his life,
and determined to tell his story so that others would be able to learn
from his experiences and avoid repeating the mistakes he saw made in
Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Uganda, and now in the United States.
