Killers of the Flower Moon exec producer Niels Juul has been developing a drama series about Adidas founder Adi Dassler and now he has some help.
Fabel Entertainment, the company behind Bosch and its spinoffs, has come on board to develop and produce the series.
The series will tell the story of how Dassler turned the brand, which he started in a small village in Germany, into a sports and clothing empire. It comes as the company is celebrating its 75th anniversary in August.
It will explore how he founded the company in his mother’s garage in 1948 and will also focus on the complicated Dassler family relationships, fueled by competition, drama, love and heartbreak. It will also cover the intense competition between the Dassler brothers, Adi and Rudolf, which fully comes to a head when Rudolf creates the competing brand Puma, igniting a multi-decade family rivalry.

The story shocked the world 10 years ago: the Copenhagen Zoo’s decision to euthanize a healthy two-year-old giraffe named Marius because they considered it a “surplus animal.” CNN reported on it. So did Le Monde in France, the U.K.’s Guardian and The Independent, and the Irish Times.
The New York Times wrote on February 9, 2014: “Marius the reticulated giraffe died at the Copenhagen Zoo on Sunday. He was 2 years old. The cause of death was a shotgun blast, and after a public autopsy, the animal, who was 11 feet 6 inches, was fed to the zoo’s lions and other big cats.”
Marius the giraffe at the Copenhagen Zoo days on February 7, 2014, before he was euthanized.
A decade after the death of Marius, the Cph:dox festival in Copenhagen hosted the world premiere of Life and Other Problems, a documentary that uses the case of Marius to ponder the interconnectivity of species,...

Screambox is getting even crazier having acquired North American rights to Lukas Rinker‘s bonkers black comedy Holy Shit! from The Playmaker Munich out of this year’s American Film Market.
Cinedigm will release Holy Shit! on the company’s Bloody Disgusting-powered Screambox streaming platform in early 2023.
Scriptwriter and director Lukas Rinker has created an ultimate worst-case scenario that feels relatable yet unimaginable at the same time when Architect Frank awakens bloodily trapped inside a portable toilet standing on a construction site.
“Architect Frank (Thomas Niehaus) regains consciousness in a locked portable toilet on a construction site where a detonation is being prepared. As he desperately tries to find ways of escaping this „prison” before potentially being blown to smithereens, he realizes who has put him into this predicament: none other than the corrupt and lecherous mayor Horst (Gedeon Burkhard) who also has designs on Frank‘s pregnant girlfriend Marie...

Theatre is the quintessential art of reinterpretation. Every time a play is revived it is “remade”. With something so joyously provisional, why would you want to be definitive? And so with that in mind, let’s be clear that what follows is not some Olympian effort to decree “the best plays of all time”. Instead, it is a selection of pieces we find continually rewarding.
Inevitably, such a list reflects the work that’s staged, celebrated, and studied in the UK; it draws on a western canon. There are more men than women, more white writers than people of colour, although limiting ourselves to a single work by any author – dead white male or not – should help to widen the scope a little; yes, that means only one play by Shakespeare.
