The 2021 Billboard Music Awards was a two-night event this year, with music superstars such as The Weeknd and Machine Gun Kelly going home as winners for Top Artist and Best Rock Artist, respectively.

Scroll down for the complete list of BBMAs champs in all 51 categories, 42 of which were announced the morning of the ceremony with the remaining 9 saved for the prime time broadcast.
Like the MTV Video Music Awards and the American Music Awards, the BBMAs are a popularity contest, but apart from two categories (Top Social Artist and Top Collaboration) they weren’t voted on by fans online. Instead, Billboard decided nominees and winners using the same metrics that determine the weekly Billboard charts: record sales, track sales, online streams, radio airplay, and social engagement.
SEEEarly Grammy contenders in R&b categories: Watch out for Silk Sonic, Sza, H.E.R., Justin Bieber and more
The Weeknd came in with 16 nominations, more than any other artist, and for good reason.
